The Residents team is ,yes, the representative team of the clubs playing in the QLD Intrust Super Cup ( except for the PNG Hunters who not eligible).

I believe the rules are that to be a Residents player (for either QLD or NSW) you must also be eligible for that same state's Origin team.


My point was that players eligible for the Pacific Nations ...that are also eligible for the Residents game can also cause a headache for PI selectors and supporters.

Well...yeah....but what i ment was none of it is binding...think gareth played for england...then played for nsw residents...as someone else pointed out these resident teams are nothing more that nsw/qld cup select teams

I know it means nothing with respect to national allegiance but it's a bit worrying when a Fijian international puts a residents game before his nation's Pacific Test match. I wonder if he'll put his hand up for Fiji when the WC comes around? If he does I hope the Fijians tell him to ram it.

I have know idea, but is that what happened.... did he actually need to make a choice between the two, or did he not even get selected to play for fiji? i haven't seen anything that says he knocked back playing for Fiji in a pacific test so that he could play in a qld residents game out at shitty Langlands park.

He wants to play for Australia he says while preparing for a Test with Samoa???
