Panthers in the Superbowl

The Carolina Panthers that is - but the similarities to Penrith are striking.

- just two years ago the Panthers were the worst team in the NFL, managing just 1 win and 15 losses.

- they have been underdogs in each of their playoff matches

- their opponents in the big one, New England Patriots, are overwhelming favourites - and this is their second Superbowl appearance in three years

- the Patriots logo is red, white and blue

That's enough for me - I'm backing the Panthers.

I've just joined their forums, and posted a good luck message... no need to start a thread, another Penrith supporter did that!

a poster called 'Penrith Panther' posted a similar story to the other one that has already been made

Anyone watching the game? In the past i have watched them, i find it very entertaining even though i don't know the rules. One thing i would have loved to have done is gone to a Gridiron game whilst over the states. Pity i wasnt there in their season. ;-) The baseball was on and i regret not going to one of those games. Geez i was in enough states i could have possibly caught one. :D

Back on the watching of the game. Don Lane usually is the commentator, does anyone know if he will be doing the commentary again for the Aussies. He's pretty good because he usually enlightens us to what is happening with the rules and stuff.

has the game already been played?

Next Monday. The NFL has decided that the Superbowl requires a 2-week-long build-up of excitement, pressure and hype. The tension must be unbearable for the teams fans.
