The New Zealand Warriors will host NRL champions , Penrith , in a pre-season match to be held at North Harbour Stadium , Auckland , in February. The match has been scheduled for Sunday, February 29. The kick off time is yet to be finalised but it is expected to be at 5:30pm (NZ Time)

Bartercard Cup teams, North Harbour Tigers and Mount Albert Lions will play the curtain raiser.

The Warriors agreed to play the match at North Harbour Stadium in wake of the success of the Lion Red Kiwis victory over the Kangaroos last month. Last year an NRL pre-season match against Cronulla attracted 15,000 people to the ground.

The match will be an opportunity for the Warriors to exact some revenge from Penrith which proved a bogey team throughtout season 2003. Penrith beat the Warriors four times, once in pre-season and twice in the round robin and then in the semi finals.
