Being the only real tenant limits our bargaining power IMO.

I would have thought with the competition from Telstra it would really strengthen our position?

It's not like they could afford to lose us.....

Does it though? I mean now that both Stadiums are looked after by effectively the one Trust it doesn't matter that much when their main focus has been Telstra.

But would you agree that if the trust left what is an iconic stadium in western sydney without a tennant, they'd have a few questions to answer to their masters....

I'm sure they would - definitely. But then the Parramatta Board would face the same questions if they were to leave for Telstra. Bit of a catch 22 - they both need each other so neither one is going to place to much emphasis IMO on what the contract will offer.

It would be a bit stupid for the club to move to telstra fulltime in the future. Who would go back to the leagues club after games then? They would lose out on a fair bit of income there and with the pokie tax taking it's toll they need all the patrons they can get at the club. now i know the football club and leagues club are different entities but most of the members are on both boards aren't they?

depending on who you talk to it will work the other way, remember the old "after match function" debate???? ;-)

it appears that we're not wanted at the club for the fear of scaring the pokie pullers away, however Telstra's money will and can come in very handy..

True....I was just putting the case, that's all. ;-)

But without Parramatta Eels, the stadium is a white elephant, and the promised upgrade wont happen. (and it has to be very doubtful now, imo)

What stage are we at with the stadium upgrade? Is there a plan to upgrade within a certain timeframe? Come to thimk about it, soon almost every team bar 2 or 3 will have a capacity higher than ours. I think it's a real shame given were in the top 2-3 followed teams in Sydney.
