:sarcasm: ... wtf is wrong with promoting a "league" related organisation (which is effectively a charity type thing) on a league related forum? ... hardly like there was some major song and dance in promoting it :?

Thank you PG and Strider for your support. I have seen the good Men of League do for the game. The Men of League organisation was running a CHARITY function to support the family of a CRL Development Officer, Rick Keast, who died a couple of months ago at a young age from a brain tumour. Rick introduced many kids to the game of Rugby League, and worked very hard at promoting the game. Peter Sterling and Ricky Walford donated their time to be guest at a fund raising luncheon organised by Men of League.
I couldn't believe that a Rugby League forum - supposedly open to support the game and its players and followers would require me - or anyone else - to seek permission to promote the function. That's why I said, in reply to the Post Deletion Notice, that I couldn't be bothered to seek 'permission'. Especially when a moderator like Stagger had posted a reply in the thread supporting the Men of League organisation.
I would also hazard a guess that JessEel, another moderator, also has NO objection to the posting of the Men of League 'promo', especially as Jess knew Rick very well.
I cannot see how advertisers of LU COULD or WOULD be offended. An organisation as well run and respected as Men of League would only ENHANCE the reputation of an advertiser. It is an organisation sponsors would be pleased to be associated with.
Why not have a separate section on the forum for Men of League News?...Could even make it a sticky. Makes more sense than some of the 'sticky' that have been put up in the past...
Whatcha reckon...????

Just a question ---- Why wouldn't a Men of League thread deserves more precedence than say a GOD SHALL NOT BE MOCKED thread.
How come that was not deleted...would say advertisers Betfair approve of it - rather than a Men of League thread.
In my opinion it is a pretty weak excuse for deletion. I think you OVER READ the Members Guidelines. STILL.....Whilst I might not agree with your opinion, I'll defend to the death your right to express it

Thats where your argument stops and starts, yet you want to hold LU responsible for your actions, or in this case, your lack of.

No one said we would not support it, despite your accusations.

If you had read and understood our forum guidelines, to which you agreed to abide by when you joined, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

or.................

If you took a minute to send an email, we also wouldn't be having this conversation.

It was your choice, but you couldn't be bothered.

Its got nothing to do with anyone's opinion or interpretation, its there is black and white.

I'm assuming your serious here, but what does precedence have to do wit our guidelines, and how, in your opinion, does it breach our guidelines ?

What's the difference between getting people to join the Football Club which offers benefits to members and to joining Men of League organisation which cares for the needs of injured footballers and players who are down on their luck.
I thought both would go hand in hand, yet I have been told by moderators that I need to get the blessing of the forum 'gods' to make such a suggestion?
Excuse me if I am thick, but I can't see the problem, can you?
Especially as the Men of League is a 'not for profit' organisation; it is a sporting 'St Vincent de Paul' type organisation that enables all former players and officials to stay in touch with the game and do some good.
I would have thought it was an organisation that Leagueunlimited would be PROMOTING instead of putting up obstacles.
Don't the moderators have the balls to see that? Need to take off the blinkers.....

Just for the record... I'm pretty sure I got moderator advise before starting the 'Join the Footy Club' thread. It didn't take long and there was no issues at all.

Perhaps give it a try Pete? If they knock you back then have a song and dance over it, but give them the chance to approve it firstly.
