Try your hand at sport and meet the stars at Castle Hill

VISITORS to Castle Towers shopping centre on February 6 could be forgiven for thinking they were entering a major sports stadium.

And, in fact, they will be when the Hills Shire Times and Castle Towers host a one-stop sports registration day on centre stage on the middle level between 9am and 1pm.

Castle Towers marketing manager Megan Zalloua said the sports registration day provided a great opportunity for locals to explore a new sport or re-register for the new season.

“We have a great range of sporting groups within the Hills district and are thrilled to be able to support them with this event,” Ms Zalloua said.

It will be a chance for Parramatta Eels fans to catch up with utility Feleti Mateo, 25, and centre Krisnan Inu, 23, who will encourage youngsters to try rugby league.

Penrith Panthers fans are in for a treat with a visit from Lachlan Coote and Wade Graham.

Coote, 19, is a utility back and former Australian schoolboy star, while Graham, 20, is a promising halfback/five-eighth who has come up through the ranks.

And with AFL gaining popularity in the Hills, why not say hello to Kevin Sheedy, the coach of Team GWS, who will also drop in to Castle Towers.

Last year the former Essendon coach was appointed the coach of the new Western Sydney AFL team.

He is regarded as a legend in AFL circles.

There will also be plenty of free family entertainment as well.

Rebel Sport Castle Towers is offering all players who register on the day a 30 per cent off voucher store-wide valid on Saturday and Sunday.

The sports registration day is on centre stage on the middle level.

Maybe Feliti will be signing his new contract with the Raiders there... :sarcasm:

Heh, are the Eels making these two sing for their supper (contracts) or something?

Clearly it'll be an AFL contract
