Parramatta Eels going forward

For the Parramatta Eels to go forward and prosper in 2013 I believe the Eels board should be voted out by the membership. the coach Stephen Kearney should be sacked, along with the current recruitment officer.

Jason Taylor should be appointed head coach. Steve Folkes should be forwards/assistant coach.
Brian Smith should be appointed as Football Manager, overseeing the three grades of Parramatta and also being the recruitment manager.

Sell Ben Roberts to the Cessnock Goannas .

Sign Luke Lewis and appoint him as captain.

These will be key factors in getting Parramatta back into regular Top 8 positioning and potential premiership favourites within 2 seasons.

Hopefully Mick Cronin accepts current offers to run for the Eels Board next year also, as it would be refreshing to see a football brain on the board again.

Agree with Kearney to be sacked, giving the Board the benefit of the doubt at the moment, and unsure whether the "recruitment officer" is actually the development officer (and hence shouldn't be sacked) as we've been told Kearney is in charge of recruitment (in which case see above).

I'm not whether there was any animosity between Smith and Taylor after Smith left early? Something tells me that they wouldn't work together in those roles just yet, and Smith has a coaching job. Taylor and Folkes would be a more than able coaching combination (compare with Kearney and Arthur).

I'm not sure the Goannas would have enough money to make that worthwhile. Roberts is high placed in the forum player of the year points, and might still have a role to play in the 14 jersey (especially with Keating and Maguire injured, and Smith yet to be re-signed).

Sounds good to me, if he's willing to sign with us rather than a higher-placed club.

Eric Grothe Snr is on the LC Board at present - maybe there's room for one more ex-footy player/businessman in Cronin in the mix there, but you still need a balance. There are four ex-players currently on the FC Board to be elected in December (Grothe Snr, Price, Kolc and Sharp). Cronin would be a welcome addition there imo, and beyond that we just have to see what happens with the LC elections next year.

I think they'll be keen to jump ship when bartman guarantees them the opportunity see out two years of a three year contract.

They'll probably even agree to signing a one year contract with two years worth of options in the club's favour.

I don't think the money is such a motivator that they'd be happy getting the arse. These guys have plans they want to see to completion.
