The half that was signed from yawnion, Blaise Barnes, was examined by the club after yawnion approved surgery to repair his ACL. First Eels contact session it went again, on examination they found the yawnion surgeon had used a dissolvable screw to secure the repair .

He will be 100% for preseason training, and to confirm how well the NYC is going, currently 4 first choice forwards are out and they still doing the job. Oregon Kaufusi and Dylan Brown stood down from the schoolboys tour of their own choice to play for the club

A great spirit , the team also has at least 3 backs out too

As far as theBest of the West challenge today, Parramatta won th U9, U11, U13 and U 17 against Penrith sides. When I left they were behind in the U15, where the surprise champions Cabra were trailing St Marys

A good start this year, tomorrow at Guildofrd with the other age groups should be interesting. For the past few years the older age groups have been difficult for the Eels teams.

Not surprised, Cabra was off the mark in the 15s in the Parra comp, the Rouse Hill team froze in th GF after beating Cabra 30-8 just 2 weeks previously. The coach wasn't there for the pre match instructions may have hurt them, anyway the results are promising.

You can see the different styles, size and power against the more structured and speedy Parra teams

I guess that link also confirms Mark Tepu Smith to the Sea Eagles. It's a shame that he's gone to Manly but I think we'll cover his spot pretty easily with Roberts, Hollis, and Hughes coming into the SG Ball squad next year.

Tepu smith a big loss, was fantastic this season & was the best forward we had consistently. Already played Nyc this year with Manly. In saying this Valance Harris stood up in the finals series for SG Ball this year & finished the year strong. Not forgetting we were without Stefano Utoikamanu majority of the year , Who will be back bigger, faster & stronger next year.

As for Brown & Kafusi, Yes they pulled out of Aussie schoolboys but were their hearts in it anyways being Kiwi kids.? Great to see they both have had fantastic years & made the most of there opportunities speally now Dargan is out Brown can slot right in.

Also herd Kyle Cassel has also left to take up an offer with the Bulldogs

Cassel - Dogs
Smith - Manly
Seve - Dogs
Leotoa - Nz
Winchman - Manly

Having seen both comps this year, the Riff probably have one more competitive side in each age group than the Parra sides. However they tend to play the power game through all ages, and seems against the more structured and speedy sides they have been beaten.

Have been advised the Cabra U15 side that did lose was missing their 7 best players who played in Union rep team and were unavailable, no other age group lost, very impressive results and hopefully good omen for future

As far as 'the future' goes, the only kids that matter are the potential first graders. Plenty of quality juniors dominate in their age groups without having NRL potential.

Stone and Aukafolau look like potential first graders but I can't see anyone getting an opportunity next year besides Leleisiuao, since he is a winger and we have something of a vacancy.

Which of these kids will be pushing for first grade next year?

We had a lot of 18 and 19 year olds in this year's squad. It'll be another few years before we see most of them push up. The three ones that'll push up into back-up spots next year are: Stone, Dane Aukafolau, and Leleisiuao. I think we'll have a few more train with the first grade squad over the off-season.
