Opinion Parramatta Eels rebuild

How long before the Eels rebuild is complete and they're back in finals and contending for a premiership? They were last a premiership contender in 2022 which wasn't that long ago and many including myself expected them to rise up the ladder and push for a spot in the finals especially after their pre season, but now the season proper is here it appears the rebuild has further to go than people thought and the losses of Brown and Lomax will hurt them in the short term. Thoughts?

To be an Eel...

Like an orange peel
So it rhymes with, thou shalt it be?
Not yet a piece of fruit this young seaborn
Lest it dwells in the water

Ohh how I wonder about the earth and the water it bethrows

To be that eel

Brian Smith - 2005 (Before the prelim final)

Serial pest Thread starter at it again..

They'll finish between 6th and 10th as they've got it in them to beat anyone on their day, but they'll lose games they should win.

Their window is the next 3 years as Moses is already 31.. But do they have a better squad than Brisbane, Melbourne, Penrith, Bondi etc..?

They were never a contender in 2022

I reckon the 6 from Penrith and the raiders 7 who won the game last night would be pretty good gets for them.

Negatives
Im not saying the losses of Brown and Lomax are the Eels fault but the replacements in Pezet and Brian Kelly were not exactly going to fully fill the void. DeBelin is a plodder and has been for a while. To pay DeSilva $650 000 (under Ryles's watch) was not the greatest purchase ever.

Positives
*Iongi should build on last season.
*JAC is a decent purchase (he pretty much fell into the Eels lap though).
*Sean Russell (though leaving), Ryley Smith and Kitoanga have developed their games under Ryles.
*I think the Eels finished last season pretty well. Moses was fit though which certainly helped.

I think the season will be a bit of a battle for them.

An Eels rebuild is basically the same thing as a fully CFMEU led project.

All the resources are being siphoned off elsewhere and they've deliberately staffed it with bootlickers and deadshits.

I'll have taken a bath with a toaster and @SLRBRONCOS before it gets further than ongoing strikes because the f**ken pie warmer is broken.

Parramatta have spent so long in their own way when they should be a powerhouse club. In the end Penrith got it together and are the club the Eels should be. Their catchment is massive in terms of area and population. The fact they’re 40 years without a premiership is embarrassing for those in charge.

Nah.

Previous mobs got exactly what they wanted. Control and a leg up over the other factions.

This mob seems to be too stupid to be embarrassed. And the includes the Wonderboy rookie coach

Well if they aren’t embarrassed they definitely should be. The club has been asleep at the wheel for most of my life.

The pyramids will have taken less time to build then Parras rebuild ever will. Sorry people but no one alive today will ever see Parra win another Premiership.

The best we can hope for is our grand children's, grand children's, grand children's grand children to finally see one being played by flying robots, IF that last die hard supporter that's still kind of left even cares anymore.

They've been unlucky to make grand finals in the era of the cheating Storm and the smug. Also had to come up against a very in form Andrew Johns in 2001.

Never rated ryles as a coach but think the weekend didn’t do them justice and they lost confidence

Still think they can make the 8 if Moses stays injury free
