Is Spotless the new name for the Homebush showground "main arena"? Where the Bulldogs played for a while?

I can't keep track with merkins referring to grounds by sponsors names in casual conversation all the time... talk about fully slurping on the corporate c**k!

The government is "planning" to a lot of things....

Like (technically still) planning to build a new stadium in Moore Park, for example.

But it has kinda round ends

I dont mind ANZ at all.

Tho i agree it would be a whole lot better if the parking were cheaper. I park the other side of parra rd and walk but its just me. The walk to parra stadium from anywhere i park there isnt a whole lot quicker (unless you turn up very early)

Many times. Yes.
I'm sure many of us saw the Bulldogs/Eels game there packed out. It was good. It has been renovated further since then.

I'm only talking about shit games by the way, like against Canberra or Gold Coast or St George or Manly. Would you rather 13000 at ANZ, or a smaller stadium that suits just fine?
If you prefer ANZ, that's fine by me. I'd prefer Spotless for games like that.

Then you would know it doesn't contain sound very well. The players would barely notice if it was capacity or empty. Be hard to call it good atmosphere.
As I said though, it can be a great ground. If it's a 3pm kickoff, I'm there. But as you said, you'd only play shit games there so it's probably going to be Saturday or Monday night, and as a night stadium it's garbage.

Yes, I'd love to be this close at the "rectangular" stadium.

You're right, this is much better. Is that Semi or Alvaro diving over in the far corner?

Mmmmm, ok.

25000 seat stadium. Full.
83500 seat stadium. 1/4 full.
I know what I'd prefer, but mate, We'll just have to disagree.
No probs.

If both places are going to have shit atmosphere and the same amount of fans (unlikely to sell out Spotless) I'll take the stadium where I can seat next to the field. You can sit up in the wings if you want

Well quit f**king responding then.

Plus I trust the club, when it comes to choosing a ground which will only be home for 3 years, they'll take in more consideration than whether you enjoy the atmosphere, and also be open to changing stadia the following year if the 1st one isn't ideal

Funnily enough, so do I. And it'll only be 2 years for the Eels. Not 3.
And quit f**king responding.

PARRAMATTA pool will be moved from its O’Connell St site to make way for the new $300 million stadium.

A design brief put together by PricewaterhouseCoopers for the 30,000-seat Parramatta Stadium shows the Parramatta War Memorial Swimming Centre will need to be demolished in order to fit the development.

State Sport Minister Stuart Ayres briefed Parramatta Council on the design brief’s findings this afternoon (Tuesday).

Parramatta Lord Mayor Paul Garrard said he would prefer the pool stayed at its current location but would work with the government to find an alternative site.

“If the pool has to go, well I hope that the minister has a plan and we want to work with them,” Cr Garrard said.

“The golf club site does leave a lot of options open for future use but the zoning on that land will need to be changed. That’s an issue that will need to be looked at.”

When asked whether the government should pay for the pool’s relocation costs, Cr Garrard said “of course.”

“I think if they take the pool away then there needs to be compensation.”

He said construction of new swimming facilities started from about $25 million.

“At the end of the day I expect the government to be very responsive to the community’s requirements and to formally discuss our concerns,” he said.

The pool received a $7.8 million upgrade in 2007. The refurbishment included new filtration systems for four pools and waterslides, a new entrance, new change rooms, kiosk and program room, major repairs to the 50m pool, waterslide repairs and bench seating for 460 spectators.

The centre was opened in 1957.

Parramatta state Liberal MP Geoff Lee said he would like to see a new pool constructed on O’Connell St.

“My view is, whatever happens, however it is funded, we should get a world-class facility,” Mr Lee said.

“I’d like to make the whole of O’Connell St a sporting precinct.

“This is an opportunity to work with council. It is just the start of the process.”

Mr Lee said the design brief was not yet completed and was unable to say whether the government would help the council pay for the pool.

“I will push the State Government to give as much as it can to Parramatta.”
