I'm not trolling, but 10k is a bit disappointing.

Media is mostly to blame though, i really thought they would've got behind the ACL... however it was pages back in the sports section yesterday.

And another thing that came to my mind last night, why don't Sydney FC take their home games all over Sydney during the A-League season? They're missing a great opportunity to market their brand to the entire city. Playing matches at Parramatta Stadium, Toyota Park, Leichardt etc. would work quite well.

I didn't even know the game was @ Parramatta Stadium until I drove past it the day of the game and saw it on the stadium notice board. Advertising for the game was hopeless...

i was there and 10K was a good crowd for a sh*t day against an indonesian team noone knows with no publicity.

to put it in perspective, a few weeks back the eels got 11K on a wet night v canberra

Don't think its fair comparing Eels crowds with the the ACL.... The NRL gets a crapload of coverage. Sunday afternoons on 9 are pretty much dedicated to rugby league and the eels have been around for 60 years. Shows like the footy show turn players into personalities. This is watercooler stuff that advertising and paid promotion can't buy.

On Thursday nights sports segment on 10 there was 5 items before they mentioned the Sydney FC game. It followed a story about libby lenton losing her keys or some rubbish. Even then they only showed 1 goal.

I think it it fair to, if only to demonstrate to 2 crowds were similar.....given what you have pointed out....on a wet night the eels should have outdrawn sydney fc 2 to 1 ;-) It was a good roll up for sydney
