Parramatta..the place to go for pensioners

We get a halfback that can steer a team around the park, we will give the comp a massive shake, 4 more wins this year and we are a top 4 side. We had a couple of heart breakers against the Knights and the Tigers, we also should have put the Sharks away both times, we also could have come back against the Rabbits. We are talking a few key points in a few games, the opportunity was there, these moments are the turning points and are the reasons we want a halfback.

There are a lot of good young kids coming and I think next year will see them, still a year young show there wares in the NYC cup, and some will step into Wenty as well.

As to the CEO, well I have spoken to him, one on one about the football side, and how it success is paramount to the success of the club and to ween the club away from Pokie $$$$. He wants success, I am happy at the moment with how we are tracking, but I want a good halfback, regardless of their age to help out. They don't have to be a superstar, just capable of guiding the team around.

Well said, and even though I don't agree i think you raise some valid points. Best of luck next season

It's a formidable line up...

1. Dorothy Zbornak (she's tall so should be good under the high ball)
2. Luke Burt
3. Jarryd Hayne
4. Timana Tahu
5. Eric Grothe
6. Rose Nylund
7. Sophia Petrillo (c)
13. Ben Smith
12. Shane Shackleton
11. Nathan Hindmarsh
10. Fuifui Moimoi
9. Blanche Deveraux
8. Justin Poore

14. Anthony Mitchell
15. Joel Reddy
16. Tim Mannah
17. Justin Horo

Unfortunately Dorothy's cheating ex-husband Stanley Zbornak has been signed by the Melbourne Storm

The Titans have a average age around 27, and doesn't seem to be a issue for them this year.

PG,

I reckon we should throw in Vinegar Tits and the Freak to get some more aggression in our pack

Exactly.

If you want to see how effective older players are, look no further than the Origin teams.

Slater 27
Boyd 23
Inglis 23
Tonga 27
Folau 21
Lockyer 33
Thurston 27
Civoniceva 34
Smith 27
Scott 25
Myles 25
Thaiday 25
Harrisson 29
Cronk 27
Costigan 25
Shillington 27
Taylor 22

Average age 27, with only four blokes under 25, and two over 30 (but how many QLD over 30s are in England now?)

The best players are in their mid 20s-early 30s.

Sure it's nice to have young players, the thinking being that they'll be around for a long time, but as well as looking to the future you need to win games now.

Not only that, but with the salary cap, there's no guarantee your young stars will be at the club forever - people are kidding if they think Hayne will retire at Parra. Look at Folau, Hunt, Inglis, Lyon, SBW, Barrett, Fittler, Tonga, Thurston, Prince and Dave Taylor - all poached away from their debut clubs.

Lockyer's the only superstar in recent memory who'll retire a one-club man, and that's only because the Broncos have the deck stacked in their favour.
