As is normal around this time of year the Eels have again sent a Development squad to NZ. They played three games and returned victors in all three. Some of these boys should prgress up into our Flegg side next season as well. In the case of Tim Mannah, he has already played in Flegg alongside his older brother John.

Squad.

Jason Baiteiri, Mitchell Baker, James Brown, Jamie Buhrer, Chad Challita, Jay Clancy, Ryan Defries, Kealan Gavin, Casey Harris, Scott Hartigan, Abbas Hijazi, Ben James, Steven Kadry, Taniela Lasolo, Joel Latham, Luke Latham, Owen Laufo, John Mannah, Tyson Nash, Domenic Nasso, Siotame Siaki, Cam Speechley, Craig Subakti, Jamaal Tago, Michael Toevai, Francis Tuigamala, Rhys Watt, Luke Williams, Shaun Cox

A few familiar surnames in that bunch:
Baiteiri, Speechley, Toevai, Tuigamala

Does anyone know what relation they are to their more famous namesakes?

Jason Baiteiri is Tas Baiteiri's son and Cam Speechly is Michael's nephew.

not sure about the others.

Michael Toevai played for Patrician Brothers Blacktown with Tim Robinson, Joey Mataele and James Buhrer. Not sure that Francis is any relation of "Inga the Winger" but could be a distant relation. I've a feeling he is from either Norths or Penrith.

Played with both of those blokes in junior footy.

Speech at Guildford Owls in Under 7's - Under 11's and

Baiteri at Hills Bulls in Under 12's and Under 13's.
Jason used to be a real tubby lil kid, now he's the perfect build.

Its great to see blokes you play with in the juniors, really kick on. Should be interesting to see how the bolded players perform. I'm really expecting big things out of Boo (Speechley) especially, and also Jason Baiteri.
