send that message onto ray price....

Pissing everything you ever earned up against a wall will make a man bitter. And Ray's never been the sharpest tool in the shed, or known much about discretion or unity. That's why his public life since retirement has been one sh*tfight after another.

It's clear that the qualities required to make a successful footballer won't guarantee you'll be a successful human being.

You might be right but he played most of the start of the NSW Cup season at Fullback and was substituting for an attacking 5/8th very much like Hayne. Defensively he is more a fullback then a 5/8th.

Either way I wouldn't call him a NRL 5/8th just yet by the longest stretch of the imagination. Playing a position okay in NSW Cup or QLD cup doesn't put your name in lights as an NRL player.

Mate, Humble played five-eight in the QLD Cup. You`d have to ask Brett Kenny why he played fullback at Wenty, but it was probably because the incumbent five-eight, O`Grady, was pretty good and was also captain of the side.

I agree, the one game he played 5-8 he it just look natural thb, not manufactured or coached, he just knew what to do and where to be.

Statistics dont tell you everything and the kid looked very solid in defence and n attack he looks switched on and aware, rather then the confused and forced play of someone like Mortz.

When I look at someone like Mortimer, ball playing doesnt seam to come natural but rather manufactured. I think anyone who expect instant success is moronic or ignorant, but give humble the same chances that Mortz was given and I think you will have a better player at the end of it. Mortimer was probably expected to just improve without much guidance, some times you just need to tell a player what to do and get them to exacute that consistantly and then they will have the confidence to play more adhoc footy.

Yeah, fully agree. THe same goes for Mortz kicking. He isn't a natural.

Mortz went from NYC to NRL. He is not skillfull enough to make that big jump and take on such responsibilities.

Hayne has natural talent and could do it.

I also agree about Humble. THe little that he played at 5/8th, he seemed show some likeness to Kenny and he was in it, being everywhere.

But his games at fullback were attrocious. Looked lost.

If Humble's surname was Hughes, he might've got a longer stint.

I really felt for Humble in the few games he had to play as fullback at first grade, absolute shockers especially in place of Hayne.
DA should've had the balls to call the shots with Morts being relegated to the bench or something and Humble taking the 5/8 with Burt/Reddy getting the fullback role.
I'm probably exaggerating but I could hardly fault any of Humble's games at 5/8, or even at halfback.
