Paterson

Was anyone else impressed with Cory Paterson? I thought he looked like a bigger more effective version of Liam Fulton, and not just because of the bald head.

Hope he goes well for you guys. He always had a shit load of potential at the knights and was a fan favourite as he is a genuine nice guy. Unfortunately after he took a hiatus to battle depression it really checked his career.

I thought he looked great. Looks to be our only genuine edge backrower. Should get a start in the run on side for me. I thought Gavet looked good as well.

When he first came into grade with the knights I thought I was looking at a future Australian back rower

He obviously lost his way with stuff away from the footy field. He is still young and talented enough to make it if he puts in and played in the right environment.

Im sure it will , I think some players just freak out a bit with all the extra space.
The time factor plays a big part in that also - the short games made them feel like they had to score off every set it seemed

Bloke could've been absolutely anything but just hasn't progressed at all since he made his debut

Who thinks he is a centre , just like in the nines he was rooting around in the backline hogging the ball and killing momentum :(

I noticed that actually...he looked to be standing outside Lawrence in attack the whole time without really doing anything.

This is what happens when we shop at the bargain bin.

I wonder how many other NRL clubs would have signed Paterson and Lulia - I suspect a big fat ZERO.

Whilst I'm not giving up on Patterson after one game I was a little disappointed in him yesterday. I thought the game was shaping up for him nicely when he came on, as defence was not the order of the day and he is an attacking wide running / edge playing backrower. They had plenty of plays up their sleeves whereby he was the main man but poor execution, passing, timing saw them go astray. As for some of the comments seeming to be frustrated with him being in the backline....Get used to it because that's where he's gonna be, that's the role he's been bought in for. As for Lulia....I thought he went OK and I loved his one on one strip....shows he's a bit of a thinker....remember it's probably a tough gig defending inside Koro!

I haven't given up on Paterson just yet

Lulia on the other hand I never had any hope for...he certainly didn't provide me with any yesterday

Yeah I'm willing to persevere with Paterson, he just had a shocker. At least he has the capacity to bring something to the table.

Totally agree on Lulia, he is sh!t.

1. Tedesco
2. Nofoaluma
3. Simona
4. Lawrence
5. Richards
6. Austin
7. Brooks

Looks a lot better when everyone is fit.

Agree that Simona comes straight back in when fit but still didn't see the reason for putting a line through Lulia....at least in terms of backup & depth. I was out there and as I said I thought he was OK....but I'm gonna have a look at the game again on replay....Maybe I missed something.

I love Nufo and Simona as much as the next guy but these two defending on the right edge will be very worriesome.

Either way...Koro is not yet FG material due to his lack of defence
