I read an article about how he came to the decision to play on. When he saw an interview with Slater saying "I don't want to empty the tank." and Gallen thought to himself, "I do.", and that's how he decided to play on.

Big kudos to a guy that just wants to push himself and see how far he can go. I haven't seen too many Sharks games, but against the Broncos earlier this year he was still the Sharks strongest forward while carrying the ball. Even if he just came off the bench next year, he would still have an impact and be a help around Origin time.

Lewis could have had another year off the bench as an impact player as well, in my opinion.
