Good band Crowded House, probably one of the best Australian bands
And is as much a New Zealand band as it is an Australian band.
I think they should put out a best of Crowded House/Split Enz/Finn Brothers which Hester did involved with and have funds go to either anti depression research or anti suicide education. I have their DVD which has 21 songs, and each of them are rippers, but its only Crowded House, Tim Finn had a couple of good songs (Persuasion and Fraction Too Much Friction spring to mind), Neil Finn had a couple of good songs on his own a couple of years (Always the Last to Know and one other I can't remember), and of course Split Enz, and while Hester was only on the tail end of that great Kiwi band there's no reason why they couldn't ransack the earlier parts of Split Enz without Hester whereby you could grab 10-15 good songs also.
Perhaps Neil could redo the Seven Worlds Collide idea where he had the likes of his son from Betchudupa and the legendary Eddie Vedder in Auckland for a series of concerts. Imagine the money they could raise for a worthy cause to try and prevent this sort of thing?
Suicide, particularly teenage suicide is phenomonally high in New Zealand in particular, I personally think it'd be fitting if they raised money for both NZ and Australia physchiatric health research because its not a nice situation for anyone to be in, and worse, for those they leave behind.
