Vaughny has looked really strong in the All Stars game, he hits the ball up so hard and tackles just as hard. Absolutely stoked we managed to sign him up.
I'd be considering him for a starting lock spot, his power game in the middle for 60-80 minutes would be a massive asset.

Vaughan looking good, strong STRAIGHT running and showing some strength, same with Thommo, he showed good speed and power, think he copped a knock on the jaw though.
Nene, well I though wtf, especially in the first quarter, looked a little disinterested I thought, but seemed to warm into the game in the 2nd quarter, he really seems like a confidence player to me, looking now to see if he kicks on in the second half after the try.

I reckon we should play him halfback.

In fact, every player we have should play in a different position to what they are used to.

Give it a rest Benny. He's played a lot of lock through his career. He's actually listed as front-row/lock on the Dragons website and it was the same story for the Raiders when he was still on their roster.

I'm happy for him to line up at prop in Rd 1, but I feel like it's not such a ridiculous suggestion to consider him for lock? He's a big minute player, he could easily pump out 60 in the middle.
Besides, has JDB done much to impress you at lock in the last couple of seasons?

Vaughan has been very good as he is aggressive in what he does and he looks like he has a football brain.
Not sure what people are watching to think Mc Donald is going good.
He had a fall over the line try and other than that 1 good hit up and that's about it so far so jury still well and truly out.
Injury to Crocker just stuffed up my super coach team big time damn it.
Biggest disappointment is the yobo Ch 9 coverage.

Benny, I get your wit. Some on here can get just a little bit serious at times.
I thought it was funny.

Great to see Paul Vaughan playing so well in his initial outing for the Big Red V . Promise of better things to come , not only for himself , but for the entire team .

I can see this pack doing a lot of damage this season . Should they remain injury free , they will build up a solid working combination .

Packer , Vaughan , Simms , Thompson and Frizzell .
With bulldozer Mose and Ah Mhau coming of the bench , we will no longer be pushed around the park by the bigger forward packs , as we will be one of them .

All that is required , is someone to wined them up . Tell them not to take any prisoners , go out and do as much damage as you can .

Fair. Was just messing around TRVR, twas a mild example from you, but with all the brilliant ideas floating around here (Dufty to half, Field to wing) seems as though people are constantly keen to play players anywhere bar their actual position.

Vaughn belongs at prop. We are better getting more impact for less time from him (40-50 mins) and leaving the long minutes to the likes of JDB. In fact, if we are going to move JDB from lock it should be for a completely different style of player (eg ball player).

If he plays like that all through the season he'll be worth every cent. Maybe the recruitment team are starting to get things right....

Vaughan runs hard and has a good offload. We have some good running
forwards such as Frizell, Host, Lewis, Masoe, Packer, Sims, Thompson and Vaughan. Last year we only had Frizell, Packer and Thompson for most of the season plus plodders like Ah Mau, De Belin, Marketo and Matthews. Our forward power has considerably increased.

I believe that Kerr will also make a big impression with the Cutters in 2017. He will be sure to grab his opportunity if the likes of De Belin, Ah Mau and Mosoe are injured or out of form.

Can somebody remind us how much we paid for Vaughn?
Seem to recall it was around the 600k mark.

Boys, that's an elite props contract.

Now is Vaughn an elite prop - no.

Between Vaughn Hunt and Dugs, that's almost a quater of the salary cap on 3 players.

Let's hope he's as good as you guys are saying because he'd better be.
