Not a bad signing to be honest he is a better player than Elford and still young as well - he has big game expereince and not to mention he knows his way to the try line.

I'm devastated!

He's been my favourite player in the last two year... quite under rated, just gets the job done.

He's played a bit of lock this year, but maybe he's going because of a lack of opportunities... he came off the bench a few times this year. But with Roberts and Girdler gone at the end of the year, I would have thought that we would have tried to keep him.

Ah well...

Sure, the forwards is an area that we need to work on, but if a quality player like Whatuira joins us, he takes out squad one step closer to have the best team.

I see ure point but disagree.

I feel when you only have limited cash to spend buying someone whos not neccessary isnt really taking us forward, when it could mean we cant buy just say an extra prop cause we dont have the cash.

We have the money to throw at any avaliable prop that hasn't so far been signed up for next season!

He is a good buy, young a Kiwi which means we could very well be the next NZ test side in years to come (Well at least the backline could be ;-) )
