Wasn't sighted in the 1st half. Stood the f**k up in the 2nd.

Needs to win it all to be crowned the best prop of his generation.

This is the problem.

Props don't decide games of footy. He's been punching out 80 with freakish performances for years on end.

Payne is a great prop, no doubt about that. He's also a very clean player which is a surprise considering the family he comes from. I believe he's only been suspensed once for an on-field indiscretion, and he has more suspensions for his off-field behaviour (the whiteness of his sneakers being compromised, lying about family incidents and threatening to beat up female cops). But while his clean style means he's rarely cited, it also means that he lacks the mongrel that some of the other top props possess (especially Tapine who has the balance right). Fish and Leota put it on him in the 23 GF and he couldn't rise to the occasion. He couldn't match the Kiwis a few weeks after that either. He also hasn't really stood up for NSW for a full series (although looked hampered with injury this year)

It will be interesting to see how Stefano goes against him this weekend after his comments.

Really interesting because Stefano isn't particularly amazing.

Ahh I'm expecting Haas to eat the entire Storm pack alive. Surely he doesn't have a problem with Stefano.

Stef was probably referring to Walsh, Ma’am and Carrigan

He’s gonna need a Clive Churchill like performance to back up his words

Haas looks broken but is still head and shoulder above any other prop. Penrith going the twist on his bad leg didn’t even slow him down. Can’t see the storm slowing him down, the most they can do is try to shut down offloads try to beat him with misdirection by small players running up the middle
