Peachey Congratulating Colin Best

Peach is fine doing that. In fact the Great Ali used similar sporting gestures throughout his career.
Simple fact of the matter, peach has been our best on player for about all but 2 rounds this year & gives his all.
Now if Simmons had have done it I would be f*cken ropable.
Big difference.

You're probably right pogo but I just can't resist sticking in the boot into Manly. What can I say? It's just the way I was raised!

Still find it hard to fault Peachey though. The way I saw the incident (and I was sitting right behind the goal posts at that end) Peach came across vainly to try and stop Colin bringing the ball any further behind the black dot. Colin grounded just before Peach arrived and with Peach momentum he was suddenly standing next to Besty and he had two choices pat him on the back and walk away or engage in a slanging match. He chose sportsmanship over stupidity!

As for the Sharks not showing enough passion- do you reckon Keith Galloway & Danny Nutley were fired up?

& Bob Fulton was a good footballer, gifted with speed.
other than that, he has had teams that are the best money can buy. He never had a poor team to coach. In fact his teams were so superior in costs, it was at times quadruple what other clubs had spent on players.
And he still only got 2 premierships after 15 years of trying.
He had control of the ARL, the referees & had the backing of the richest club in the game.
Extrememly poor record & a poor coach.
long live Billy markhou.

Peach or not, I didn't like it. Not one bit. It's exactly the type of softcock sh*t that gets me so angry about the club.

Should of punched the merkin.

LOL

I don't listen to them. I can't wait until the NRL ditches this stupid exclusive rights arrangement with 2GB. They don't even call the 7;30 game on Saturday. They are pathetic.

Spot on ! You should be writing history books.

Fulton's other fine attributes include his general arrogance in public places (eg: demanding instant service in shops - a bugbear of local Manly retailers) and chronic winging, which he has the luxury of doing on commercial radio and get paid for it. This guy does not have the brain or the humanity to recognise or value gentlemanly behaviour.

wow , long live billy markhou.

the end result was ok but the method not real flash,!!

fulton was a bit more than a "good footballer" gifted with speed.

plenty of super coaches have had the same recipe for success backflip, is there anyone you rate??

& Billy gave Fulton exactly what everybody else wanted to. Including many of his players over the years.
What a sporting mentor.

yeah Gibbo too.

Not Ryan.
he is a negative coach. Negative man. Single handedly took league to the most boring of precipices.

BTR, I included Ryan because he achieved results with no frills teams, Newtown and Balmain. Interesting your comments on Ryan being a "negative man". I enjoy his commentary on 2BL, and find him quite positive, in contrast to the 2GB neanderthals. Maybe its the company he keeps on 2BL, maybe its because he's no longer a coach.

I see your point.
However I find his methods all about bending the rules & changing the game for the worse.
slowthe game, play middle 1/3rd, Slow play the balls, leave teh line early are all Ryan inventions.

i agree with tom and others that i'd prefer peach to leave the gentlemanly stuff to off the firld time, but i guess i'm saying i don't think peach has to answer to fulton or anybody else for that matter seeing as he's consistently been one of the most talented and competitive players over the years at cronulla.

i'd pay more attention to what he does when he's playing more than to some perfunctory recation to an old mate scoring a try. perhaps on some subliminal level part of him is (quite rightly) ticked off at the sharks for how the club is treating him.

I know what you mean. I guess its a matter of determining what tactics you think will best serve you in winning, given the players at your disposal. Which brings us back to the current dilema of a coach who appears not to know what tactics to deploy, and who cannot fully evaluate his player roster.

And SOL, you make an interesting point about the Peach, but I noticed that he still really enjoys winning and playing even in the current state of affairs at the Sharks.

I have no problem with Peach doing what he did, and it is something that doesn't surprise me. He plays and lives his life with class.

I wouldn't be surprised if he was sharing a joke with Besty along the lines of;
"Have you seen the winger they are grooming here as the next best thing? Yeah and they let you go!"

Hear, hear Reefy.

The Arthurson, Fulton and Hartley paid for, coached by and reffed by team!!

Aahh, those were the days. Everyone singing the clown's praises as a coach, but rightfully pointed out - did he ever jump on board a team of nobodies? I think not.

And back to the topic - I thought Peach did okay. Besides it was Best's 100th game.

Another player come back to bite us on the arsse. Long list is forming.

Best - probably
King - definately
Merritt - more than likely
Dumas - definately
