Peachey keen for a fresh start (article)

From the Sunday mail:

David Peachey revealed he wanted to spend the rest ofhis career at the Sharks after experiencing a bitter-sweet return to RL in Ballina last night.

And the veteran fullback also admitted he was desparate to defy advancing years and reclaim the NSW no.1 jersey from 'rooter' Anthony Minichiello.

Granted temporary leave a fortnight ago to deal with the collapse of his marraige, an enthusiastic Peachy was among the Sharks stand-outs trial loss to Parramatta at Kingsford Smith Oval.

He has two burning goals- staying a one club stalwart and dumping Mini from the Blues side.

"Anthony Minichiello has raised the bar and I know he is talking about having a fullback like Tim Brasher who occupies the NSW fullback spot for a long time," Peachey said

I would love to see the Peachey of old back on the field.

He seemed very lack lustre and unenthusiastic last year. It would be great to see him carving up the defence again

Well he has certainly started the year off very well, at Ballina.

I have already predicted it, but I'll say it again. Peach will have his best ever year and play for NSW.

He may have a blinder of a year and play for country this year but unless mini breaks down he won't get the chance to represent nsw again, sorry mcsharkie thats my prediction.

I reckon Minichello will be pushed to the Wing this year anyways now that Phillips is back at the Roosters.
