Michael Gordon is a winger. He is not a half, fullback or five eighth. He is a winger. Leave him be and let's not try and make him into something he is not. Injury free and in a successful Panther side, while unlikely, he will surely get an opportunity at some point in the future to represent at State of Origin level.

I think Gordon is better than girds.

Yes, easy to compare when Gordon has played how many games at centre and how many games has Gordon played at SOO level? Zero. Not saying that Gordon won't get to SOO, I think he will (and should have this year), but let's wait until we have something to base a comparison on.

Tom.

i agree Tom Girds is a proven great of our club over many seasons.Gordon has the potential to reach those heights but still has a way to go yet

I am not a believer in moving players to the halves from other positions unless they have spent time in the lower grades learning those positions.Gordon may well get a shot at fullback as after Coote we are very light on in that position. But Gordon to the halves i say no

He might not be a half or 5/8, but he definitely has the skills to be great at fullback and in the centres.

Both positions would allow him to get the ball more and once he has proven himself in those positions, it would increase his chances at being selected for Origin... even though if he was picked it would just be to play on the wing. They have a thing for selecting players who can play centre/fullback on the wing.

I know for a fact Michael Gordon would prefer to be in the number 1 or 6 jersey. So he could be another option.

This straight from micheal Gordon his favoured positions are fullback and center. My question was does he have a favoured position. His answer was he would play either fullback or center he loves both positions

Elliott is not and never been a risk taker .He will start with Graham at 5/8 and Lewis at half

Mob. I believe you are a great judge. I think we will start with Lewis at half and Graham at 5/8.

Personally, I'd like to see Graham at half and Lewis at lock with Sammut on interchange at 5/8 with Blair depending on how the play is going.?????

I reckon we'll see

7. Lewis
6. Nathan Smith

No risks with that combo

This would be the ultimate insult to our juniors. They have already insulted the Windsor contracted boys by not inviting them to boot camp.Wade Graham has to be there either as half or 5/8

Would definitely improve our defence in the halves. Thinking about the depth we have... we could have a pretty big team all round.

1. Michael Gordon
2. Luke Lewis
3. Michael Jennings
4. Gavin Cooper
5. Junior Tia Kilifi
6. Joseph Paulo
7. Wade Graham
8. Adam Woolnough
9. Masada Iosefa
10. Petero Civoniceva
11. Frank Pritchard
12. Trent Waterhouse
13. Maurice Blair

14. Sam McKendry
15. Tim Grant
16. Matt Bell
17. Junior Moors

Michael Jennings would probably be the smallest player in that backline. Although im not sure how much some of these guys will have bulked up / slimmed down since last season. At any rate... we could basically field a team full of forwards if we wanted to.

I would like to see Matty Iddiott experiment with Masada in '09.

Pauly Aiton showed what he could do in the recent World Cup and when he keeps his gob shut in Maccas after 35 schooners. He is as tough as nails and is a tackling machine (goes ok with the women too, just quietly). He should probably be the starting hooker. I think Masada would be a bit stronger than Aiton as a running forward, interchanging at dummy half. Masada would around the 95kg mark and is strong as a bull. Coould be very dangerous at 1st or 2nd receiver and interchanging into dummy half to give Aits a rest.

Lukey Lewis is best served in the outside backs, moving into the halves to cover injuries with his experience.

Paulo would be perfect in the backrow, playing like another 5/8th. Petero in one front row. Grant, Wooly and Blackett to fight it out for the other spot, with the slammer coming off the bench as the impact man.

Micky Gordon picks himself, and to a degree, so does Coote and Graham due to the talent factor.

I'd like to see Daniella and Tia Kalifi arm wrestle it out for one wing spot.

Jennings is clearly the classiest player in the side, and should play origin this year.

Saw Jarrod Sammut at Cronulla Fitness First the other day...he has bulked up considerably in the upper body.

Definately ready for first grade at halfback.
