Too much youth and enthusiasm in the backs and forwards. Panthers will want it more. As good as the Goosters are, fact is, that they have been in the GF 3 out of the last 4 yrs and they don't have a lot of rookies in their side who haven't been in a GF before.

On the other hand, you have guys like Rooney, Wesser, Lewis and Clinton who are absolutely chomping at the bit. Panthers will want it more and i think they will turn up more hungry on Sunday

And for that reason alone, they will win. Penrith will continue to be a bogey side for the Roosters

Cheers,
Moffo

So the Roosters lack hunger? :? That's big call. I expect them to be far too classy, even though I'd love to see Penrith win.

Geez Moffo, your not still sore about last weekend are you? No disrespect to the Panthers but your analysis seems a touch off tangent. But I respect your thoughts. Wayward as it may seem.

Either team can win the game in my view. I think the game between the Roosters & Doggies prove that stats go out the window. The better team on the day will win.

I think Penrith are the biggest chance for an upset against the Roosters, but the Chooks have every part of the game covered. Great defence, great attack, strong forward pack, classy backline and game breakers in Fittler and Wing.

THIS IS WHAT WILL STOP PENRITH - Their 5th tackle option is a disgrace!. Gower is a good player but his 5th tackle performances against the Warriors was so ordinary. He had a shocker.

How do you work out that because the Roosters haven't enough rookies in their team they lack enthusiasm?

If anything it points to the fact that the Panthers are more likely to be overawed by the situation whereas Roosters have players who are more likely to respond positively to the situation.

Roosters have been there before so they know what it takes whereas the Panthers have Priddis and Colin Ward (who probably won't even play) who have played in a GF.

Just ask the Warriors of last year how much youth and enthusiasm counts for on Grand Final day. They hung in for an hour but in the end it only took a 40/20 to sink them.
If the Panthers get off to a poor start and fall behind they'll be lucky to finish within 20 points. The Roosters have professionalism and experience which is worth its weight in gold in Grand Finals.

Yeah the last thing you want your 5th tackle playmaker doing is kicking the ball between the fullback and the winger giving the chasers time to move up in defence ... which is what Gower did nine out of ten times.

This is the Panthers game plan, and it works.

Daniel.

Top level NRL players are professionals, they don't get overawed by large crowds. Besides the Panthers have had packed to capacity crowds at nearly every home game so far this year ... they couldn't have had a better preparation for the Sunday to come.

So they've played in front of 20,000. Thats a big difference between 20,000 and 80,000. And just because they are "professional" doesn't mean they don't get overawed.

Big games where so much is on the line are terribly different to the to normal home games.....

Its got nothing to do with the crowd size. It has to do with playing in a Grand Final. It is the occasion not how many people are there!!

Is this not the most typical arrogant response from a typically arrogant Roosters supporter? You fool. Spot on with your analysis Moffo, well done.
