Cant do any worse though Kilkenny.

I understand where you are coming from but I think 2008 will be way too early for Wade Graham.

In any event, we need to win the battle up front in the forwards which is something we have not done for a long time.

If the forwards do there job it will make life a lot easier for whoever our halves combination may be.

The way i see it the past 25 years have seen Alexander,Fittler and Gower come through in the halves. I strongly believe Graham is the next star half Penrith will produce. The 3 before him were thrown into 1st grade early, so i dont see why Graham shouldnt get a go at some stage in 2008. He is certainly very big for a 5/8/halfback.

Despite his potential, there are some who doubt his ability to make the grade. There are some good judges who has expressed the belief he is not quick enough to make the top level. Those same judges believe Luke Clydesdale or Harry Seika are morely lilkely to succeed.

Kilkenny are these the same judges that are stupid enough to release many players over the last 5 years?

Wade Graham is better than Seika.

Thats at a district event, 26 secs isnt bad for a 15 year old in the 200m. I know 40m is a better indicator of speed in League, but that proves he has some speed at least.

I like the look of that side, however I think Rooney will have to be exceptional to keep his spot over Daniela who has looked good in his limited apperances. Lewis at 5/8 could work but we would have to be very paitient with him as it will take him a while to adjust. Even Darren lockyer took 12 to 18 months to fully adjust. The forwards look very good as long as T steps up and I think Civo will get the best out of him.

Look how much different the side is from a 2007 opinion.
That side would cost us the spoon this year.

I'd have:
1. Jarrod Sammut
2. Geoff Daniela
3. Michael Jennings
4. Michael Gordon
5. Luke Lewis
6. Richie Williams
7. Brett Firman
8. Adam Woolnough
9. Paul Aiton
10. Petero Civinoceva
11. Frank Pritchard
12. Trent Waterhouse
13. Nathan Smith
14. Junior Moors
15. Frank Puletua
16. Tim Grant
17. Masada Iosefa

But meh, we'll see how things go. I'd not mind seeing Bob Blair play centres, or Jarrod Sammut at 5/8, Williams at fullback etc. Have them figure out their spots this season and then don't mess with it next season unless injury forces us. We have a lot of options. Hopefully whatever we go with, is better then what we have now. Couldn't be that difficult.

What about some of the teams we came up with.
Do you think this team could beat the team we have now if we could make them play each other.

1.Jarrod Sammut
2.Geoff Daniela.....Must develop the Daniela/Jennings combination, they were awesome together in Flegg last year, played for St Doms together also.
3.Michael Jennings
4.Michael Gordon
5.Luke Lewis
6.Richie Williams
7.Brett Firman early 08, then Wade Graham later in the season( I know for a fact Elliott has a huge rap on him)

8.Adam Woolnough
9.Keith Peters/Paul Aiton(whoever is in form)
10.Petero Civoneceva (c)
11.Trent Waterhouse
12.Tony Puletua(hopefully Petero brings out the best in him)
13.Frank Pritchard

14.Keith Peters/Paul Aiton/Masada Iosefa
15.Tim Grant
16.Sam Mckendry/Frank Puletua
17.Junior Moors

You had Lewis on the Wing.
man we were way off.

to be honest, half the teams named back then are still better then the sh*t Matt Elliott is doing to our side. All the halves we were picking were pretty crap, and he has managed to go one step further and avoid using proper halves pretty much all season.

I actually quiet like the team i picked, with exception of the halves... given neither player is actually contracted to us. Throw Sammut/Graham in the halves and put Wesser at fullback, the team looks solid to me.

Richie and/or Joey Williams should have been given a better chance IMO by Illiott.

His structured unimaginative game plan did not suit the style of either player, which left us with no inventive halves in Lewis and Blair/Graham.

No FG standard kicking game and Luke Priddis occupying the #9 in front of Aiton and Masada virtually for the whole season due to blatant personality issues and favourtism.

Paulo should have been given more chances as well, but was unlucky with injuries.

Elliott has issues with hookers doesn't he. Screwed Priddo around all last year. Pissed Aiton off this year and took way way too long to give Iosefa a go.
Actually the further I look the less its isolated to hookers. He just has issues with rugby league players.
