Unfortunately, the social media person is the club. If the sh*t hits the fan, the club cops it. They never say oh no that's not us, that's ol' Barry in the comms department. They are employed to manage the public-facing part of the club on social media.
I agree - the CEO rang the Warriors because he knew it was bottom-feeding, low rent petty BS that wasn't necessary, and it was a less than ideal reflection on the Panthers brand, for which he is ultimately responsible.
Unless I'm missing something, that video wasn't made by a fan. It was made by a Panthers employee, therefore the Panthers. If I'm wrong, fine, but that's how I saw it.
It's not a big issue but the right move was made to take it down. I don't think the CEO needed to apologise for offence taken, but it was really average to try and slap down a club that didn't throw any barbs the Panthers' way, and has just focused itself on getting better after the shit years of COVID.
