Penrith's clours?

I was thinking of working in the allsorts jersey.

I like it.

Black should certainly remain the major shade in any of our future jerseys.

I think the problem is the use of the "one off" jerseys. Simple does not mean undistinctive. Look at the all blacks jersey. One of the most famous strips in the world. Penrith have spent 20 years establishing black as their colour. I do agree though that playing in alternate jerseys for a quarter of tye season is excessive. One game in pink, one heritage, as many as possible in black and the rest in white. The pink is what has started this discussion and more than likely the confusion amongst non penrith fans.

I made up these jerseys in relation to a thread on PI today. The slight lines at the bottom refer to the 1991-1996 jersey while the colour touch at the top of the jersey refers to the 1983-1990 jersey, but with a lot less feature to it

* This jersey template was made by Steve on PI, I have simply altered to use my designs and colours. Thanks Steve.

Teal comes from the club's colors before admission to the NSWRL. We were traditionally teal but with Cronulla coming in at the same time the decision was made to switch to brown to avoid a clash. Keeping a bit of teal on the home jersey is fine, black and light blue are colors that work well together. I actually quite like the black/brown jersey suggested earlier too. Don't like the old chocolate soldiers strip, and I love that we play in the all sorts jersey in heritage round.

I find the jersey discussions that happen to our club really strange. There's always this vague assertion that it's keeping us from achieving market penetration (no that would our shitty team) and that it's confusing because we keep switching. That's immediately followed by an idea that involves changing the primary colors of the club. Why us? Do the fans of other clubs get this all the time?

Your club happens to have the least marketable jumper in the league!
Mind you there are other clubs that dont sell well but Penrith sits at the bottom, in so far as recognition and marketing sales!
Their surely must be a link to the poor recognition and conitnual change in this clubs colours, strips and the lack of uniqueness in the their jumper that adds up to this result?
I found it interesting that the Panthers original colours were teal. So I would further suggest that the entry colour of a dark brown with teal would be a good mix for the Panthers.
The lack of imagination has made this club go for a generic black colour scheme and the rest(pink, blue, white etc) and one wonders why people dont recognise who the Panthers are!
BTW the V style jumper and its colouring looked Ok from the four that were shown!

There is not much of a difference between these two jerseys, yet the All Blacks jersey is one of the most popular in Rugby (both codes). Your argument that black is a bland colour, or our jersey lacks imagination is starting to wear thin.

We could use more imagination like we have in the past. Remember this abomination?

Unfortunately this jersey, along with our logo give the impression that we have more colours in our colour scheme. Purple is not an official colour of ours FFS, yet the media keep highlighting us in this light. This is the problem that I can see

Again our colour scheme is Black & Teal primary and White & Charcoal secondary

See this is the problem I have. The solution to the constant change of the clubs colors is always "change the club's colors". It's never, build a successful team and let the success increase positive association with the current strip.

You've just taken a giant leap and assumed that the root of all our problems is our black jersey, provided no evidence other than some vague marketing speak and ignored other factors like the terrible football the team has been serving up for the past 6 years.

Last but not least teal and brown sounds like the most gut churning abomination in the NRL.

Just for you mob!

Thats friggen awsome, looks like the old test pattern. Imagine if they ran out in that abomination.

Stick with the black, as someone else said the All Blacks merchandise doesnt seem to have a problem being sold. It has more to do with the quality of the footy being played by those paid to wear the Jersey.

Personaly I would like to go back the the 1990 Jersey & Logo. I know it is never going to happen so the Black is fine.

Blackhole was in fine form yesterday but couldn't help wondering if we change to BROWNHOLE would fans be willing to sit there. A few vuvuzellas would fit in nicely too....and the jokes would follow.

the only thing i did not like about the brown heritage jersey with the white V was that is was not exactly like the original jersey .There where a few different things on it.If your going to do a retro or heritage jersey make it the same or it defeats the purpose
