Why has no one commented on their easy draw this week?! Playing a floundering Bulldogs team. Should be a walk in!

Fair loss for the Pennies. Will really need Soward to step up and guide the team around the park consistently now.

Peter Wallace
Isaac John
Tyrone Peachey

That's our top 3 halves partners to Soward, all gone for the season. Our slim hopes have been getting more astronomical the past month.

Stick a fork in us. I still think we will scrape into the 8 though. I can live with that.

Sir James of Soward is going ok. It is a bit tough for him without his trusty steed The Red Wallace though.

Nah. It was the other knee. Nothing to do with the previous injury. Or if you mean he couldn't have done the knee sitting in the stands, then another week off would have been a great idea. You could say that for any injury though.

Bet Penrith regret bringing back Wallace early

Especially on a cow paddock like that.

Last week, you'd thought they had the Bathurst Royal Easter Show.

And as far as our halves are concerned, there is someone waiting in the wings who IMO,could potentially be as good as Cooper Cronk.

Panthers have 2 strong reserve-grade halves in Luke Capwell and Tom Humble waiting in the wings. They will be fine. Penny Moylan's just looking for excuses to justify their inevitable capitulation, funny really.

That is what you are using for your justification? Capewell & Humble?

They are reserve grade halves. Neither of them will play first grade short of another 3 or 4 replacement halves going down for the season.

Neither of those halves are first grade quality, smith is above them in Ivan's eyes as well. I think it's fair we can blame what will be some rough losses on key injuries in the run home. As a tigers fan I thought you'd maybe empathise. Can Penrith do anything right to please you master league legend??

Yeah Luke Capewell and Tom Humble look average in reserve grade surrounded by first grade talent and future superstars. They are most definitely not an answer to injuries in first grade for the Panthers.

The options are:

Matt Moylan - Has played some halves in lower grades and is experienced in first grade. But it means bringing in a new fullback and losing the ball playing he provides from fullback.
Bryce Cartwright - Very talented player, but is a ball playing second rower and not a natural half. Moving him to half also weakens our second row as he's our only ball playing second rower
Will Smith - He's a decent utility player in reserve grade. But not sure he's first grade quality and not sure he's good enough in the halves.

And ofcourse Humble and Capewell... who are most definitely not first grade standard.

No matter what option the Panthers go with, we're taking a big hit somewhere. Missing 3 of your top 4 halves options is going to screw up any team though.

What MX said. We planned pretty well this year for injuries, but no side is going to shrug off using their 4th choice halves option. And if we struggle to find a combination quick smart, this thread is going to get the mother of all bumps anyway because hodor... We'll lose some games because of this, and some mouthbreathers will think they're clever.

Besides our halves though, our front row rotation is our real problem. Let's start bitching about that so that the nice folks over at Penrith wake up and get their arses into gear and start finding us some better props. If we don't deserve to play finals footy its because those plodders cant crack 100 meters a game, not because of our draw. They're the ones who deserve the criticism.

Well Smith has played all over the place like Cronk....

He can tackle and unlike Wallace will take on the line. Even full strength I had us winning 2/6. So he's got nothing to lose and 6 weeks to get used to NRL before the finals
