St George Illawarra injury-ward has added forward Henry Perenara to the list after the former Kiwi international sustained a shoulder injury which will force him to miss the remainder of the season. The man they call "H" will join a lengthy injury list at the Dragons.

Trent Barrett, Amos Roberts, Jason Ryles, Michael Howell, Ian Donnelly, and now Perenara will be out of Sundays game due to injury.

Perenara will miss the rest of the season due to an injured AC joint in his right shoulder.

Perenara said “I’ve never had a football injury requiring surgery before." “I’m not happy. It’s pretty disappointing to end the season this way.”

“I had some pain in it earlier in the week but I was hopeful of playing through it until the end of the season.

But when I tried to pass the ball at training yesterday and couldn’t, I was immediately sent for tests.

The positive is that I will be able to train again in six weeks.”

Craig Stapleton is the likely replacement, but coach Nathan Brown will not finalise his side on Saturday.

Oh when will it end?? A season of injuries, I can cop. But this has been going on ever since 2000 - there needs to be an investigation into training methods & medical diagnosis of suspect injuries because no team suffers injury tolls like this due to bad luck alone.

Cheers,
Ben S.
