U r deadset kidding. If plummetting rapidly is moving in the right direction then u r off ur head.U obviously haven’t been watching what inept garbage this basket case have dished our over the last 10 matches.

How the fk can u b tentative at kogarah against a team that has a b-grade kicking game soft c**k forwards (except Lawrence & twal) & will throw nothing at u in attack. If saints don’t win by 20+ then u will only b making up the numbers in the finals.
We have multiple Achilles heels!

Towards the end of last season we were playing with more grit than we are currently are & albeit we mightn’t have won many games we did lose with dignity unlike recent lame efforts.

The fact that u guys will end up in the top 4 & due to there being no real standout contender ur as much chance of winning the comp as a no. of other teams assuming u dont get hit with the injury stick come finals time.

Good luck in the finals a time of yr the rabble at concord are usually on holidays !

Even the most diehard of us tigers fans couldn’t have seen that coming.Really satisfying win.

The difference a top draw no. 9 can make to the team in particular our confidence in attack & re applying pressure via a decent kicking game.

I pick us every week and I thought we had a chance. Our team now isn't that bad looking. Robbie and Mbye are class players in key positions that we had poor to extremely poor options in.

Weve lost four games by 2 points.

Even just winning half of those games would have given us a very different season.

We are close. We can put it together for patches and even (occasionally) entire games. But not a season. Even if we go on a tear from here and win all our remaining games its not good enough.

BUT, I like the way they are playing this year. We seemed likely in almost every game.

I like the way the rebuild of the club is progressing more than anything and believe the success will come...the titanic may as well have had diamond encrusted deckchairs for all the good it would have done below the waterline. The club being right is most important...players come and go but the ones worth having need to know it's solid. Sharks fixed it for the longterm...so did Penrith. ..good models

I personally reckon we are about on track.

The worst thing that happened to us this year is that we had a great start, which builds expectations.

We have better depth and our defence is performing better. I reckon we are about three players short, whereas in prior years we were 8 to 10 players short.

Were getting there.

Even JT got them to 9th in 2016.. how many players short were they then?
JT threw himself off a cliff by not playing RF, he only needed to win one more game and we were in and he would probably still be our coach?
Glad he let his ego win tbh.

I’m not defending JT by any means and I am glad he has gone.,,

I’m questioning whether there is any reason to be satisfied with this years effort to date, which seems to be the repeated theme of this thread that the OP keeps coming back to,,

There is an old saying that if you have low expectations you are never disappointed..

From an outsider looking in, I have no doubt you blokes are moving in the right direction. Last year, i wouldn't have been in the least concerned about playing the Tiges and we were travelling pretty ordinary ourselves. Move forward 12 months and we are sitting in 2nd, but i am tentative about Sundays game. Not because i think we are on a slide, but because i think you blokes are more dangerous than what the ladder might suggest. Looks like your team for Sunday is close to your best squad and Mbye and Farah have had another couple of weeks up their sleeve to gel into your systems and structures. The first year of your new regime was always going to be sketchy results wise as Cleary's plan/vision was rolled out, but the fact that teams that that would have laughed at you last year are now genuinely cautious of you suggests you blokes are heading in the right direction. Once you get your attack in order and can regularly score points, you will be a real pain in the ass for a lot of sides.
Best of luck Sunday, just not too much luck!;)

Just thought i would give this a bump for Tiger Ted's benefit.;)

Well played gents, keep the faith, Ivan's taking you places!

The difference with Ivan at the WT is that people have faith in him and hope in the club for better things to come, where as under Taylors reign those factors didn’t exist anywhere in the club.

I still can't believe people were or are calling for Clearys head. You finally get a good coach who is willing to do what it takes to rebuild the club and people are freaking out after a few losses calling for his sacking. It's that sort of short sighted thinking that constantly f**ks up NRL teams (including the tigers).

You were absolutely shit last year and lost arguably your 3 best players. 2018 was always going to be a year of rebuilding. The problem is Cleary had almost managed to fast track that. The tigers have been able to compete with and beat the best teams in the comp. Yes the middle of this season was disappointing and the potential has slipped away but you'd look to be in a much stronger place now than last year.

Just need to add 1 or 2 quality players this off season and this is a team that had the potential to challenge for a premiership.

100% correct. Ivan is the best thing to happen to our club since Tim Sheens circa 2003-2006

The difference between their play yesterday is light years from their play against the Titans and Raiders a couple of weeks ago..

This is what needs to change ... not having that extra “one or two quality players’’( I’m not sure where they are coming from in the short term anyway) but playing with consistency to produce that level of play over the course of the entire season..

Beating alll the Top 4 teams this year won’t give me any comfort if they miss the 8...

I’m tired of having moral victories.., they have made the Top 8 three times in the last 26 years so have had enough about hearing about next year..:

Now I am not saying Cleary should get sacked by any means, nor is he responsible for those 26 years...

But it doesn’t mean I have to feel all warm and fuzzy if they again miss the 8 this year..particularly after the start to the season they had and when they have demonstrated at times that they probably are a Top 8 team this season..

Glad he let his ego win tbh.

JT dropped Farah and we went on a run, which ultimately fell 1 win short. Back when he dropped him we were struggling. His lack of man management & letting Moses, Woods & co bend him over a barrel was probably what did him in.

If you speak to my missus she will agree that i'm off my head so you might be on to something there!

Agree with you re your "attack" and I made mention of it in my post if you cared to digest what i said instead of prematurely ejaculating. It is your Achilles heel at the moment.

With regards "moving in the right direction", if i was a Tiges fan (and knew anything about football) i would much rather be where you are today than where you were 12 months ago.......sounds like moving in the right direction to me. Rome wasn't built in a day!

And for what it's worth, i have a real concern that we may just be making up numbers in the finals as we have got away with the 2 points this year on many occasions through moments of individual brilliance and not off the back of smart coaching that has shifted to Plan B when we were in trouble. Come finals time, that lack of coaching nouse might well be our Achilles heel.

So Ted, my thoughts haven't really changed since our last discussion, just wondering if you've had a change of heart yet?
I think we might show a bit more effort tomorrow than we have over the last 6 weeks, but no Vaughan, no Widdop and playing at Leichhardt will sure be a big test for us. Do or die for you blokes so i expect you will leave nothing on the table. The biggest hurdle for us, the real elephant in the room, the main thing that probably sees you blokes as deserved bookies favourites, you have a real coach and we have Mary.
Again, best of luck lads, just not too much!

I love this post. I wish you the exact amount of luck that amounts to a Tigers/Dragons grand final.

We are still 1 all for knocking the other out before the grand final to go on to win it (2005, 2010). One day we will meet agian in the grand arena and settle the score once and for all

This should go down to the wire. Its not surprising what the inclusion of a few quality players to ur spine(Mbye & Farah) can do to drastically improve a teams performance.

Our results @ Leichhardt have been disappointing over the last 4-5 yrs although the team will b motivated by the chance to still make the 8 albeit faint & this should get us the 2 pts.

Regardless of the result u can take comfort from the fact u will b participating in the finals next mth.
