Are norths contributing anything other than the brand? Should they have a board seat?
Brand, feeder club, some NS fans buying merch.
And no not really, the original plan was not to have any NS rep on the board. I can live with one on there as a direct link back to our feeder club but that should be it. We've seen the damage split boards with competing priorities can have on a club.

They’ve offered to fund up to 49 percent of the clubs shortfall

They are providing actual junior pathways

And they should get at least 10k members from nth Sydney areas

Then there’s the stuff nrl will get like more ratings in Sydney and more away fans at Sydney games
Haven’t heard that about funding, seems very unlikely given the nrl own the club in its entirety, got a source?

They are providing a feeder arrangement, the same one they had with the chooks for years, the same one other nrl clubs have, it doesn’t translate to a board seat with the nrl club.

Any members they get will be for the Perth Bears, what has it got to do with a club that plays NSW Cup? If there are North Sydney fans wanting to become members they don’t need someone from North Sydney on the Perth Bears board.

Again, why does any of that require someone from nth syd on the Perth bears board? It justifies their admission, it doesn’t justify a board seat.

The NRL own the IP, NS aren’t holding any cards that would necessitate a board seat.

It’s not a feeder arrangement

Without the bears being attached Perth wouldn’t have been admitted

Without their branding…

Still waiting on that source for your claim on NS funding??
It’s on the bears thread on their sub forum

Time to get over the fact the bears are a crucial part of the bid that argument is a year old

If the wa govt hadnt sorted out this bid the bid was going to another location with the bears branding

From day dot they have been an intricate part of the bid

Happy that Perth gets a team as it's a new market but would have loved to have seen PVL try to foist the Bears on say a QLD bid if Perth fell through and how that would have gone down with the Queenslander's.

Yes the idea that the Bears were a ‘crucial’ part of the bid is utter nonsense. They were foisted on the bid by the NRL. It’s all history now but any suggestion the bid could not got up and been run successfully without them is typical Sydney centric drivel.

Nooooooo

Actually, Gold Coast Bears might (I stress, might) have worked, but I can't imagine it working anywhere else in QLD.
