Perth Team name suggestions

Have any name suggestions been posted for the Perth Super 14 team?

My suggestion is "The Perth Diamonds"

Is it too girly? I think it indicates strength and brilliance, and a local product.

You could say "The WA Diamonds" and the D for Double U is an illiteration with Diamonds and it sounds even better.

Some others?

It would be good if it was the Western something rather than Perth or even WA because then it could represent everything west of the eastern seaboard.

I heard that they maybe called something like thë:

Western Force

After the public momentum built up from a couple of Rugby Mom fans helped generate a public interest in getting the S14 spot in Perth.

Western Warriors is the cricket team, and it can't be anything with just the word 'Western' as the first part of the name, it's been done to death and plus one of the RSA teams is the 'Western Stormers'

It can't be anything 'American' sounding like 'Force'

Keeping with the Austalian theme to the Super 12 teams, ie; Brumbies, Waratahs, I think the name of the new team should be:

WEST AUSTRALIA BLACK SWANS

It's a bit of a long one, but I think this name would get a lot of support as the Black Swan its the one of the faunal emblems of Western Australia.

Any thoughts?

If you think about it, it's actually not as long as saying New South Wales Waratahs.

My point is that a team called the 'Black Swans' is an Australian name and a name which is relivant to Western Australia.

It may not be the 'coolest' sounding name but it has a name which in my opinion would be a simbol of pride for all West Australians.

Sounds a bit like a netball team but it does have a sleak sound to it. You dont have any hawks or anything is WA ie Black Hawks that sounds pretty cool
