Back on topic, if there is any topic in this thread besides me lol , is there a max term a director can serve on the ARL commission?

If the code is enjoying huge jump in(2023) ratings ,surge in crowds and a better product by a leader(with faults like all of us) who actually wants to promote the code ,let's get rid of him is perhaps behind your comment.

You want David Smith back no doubt, go rogue young man , who meant well but had no feel for the game. The code you often point to as doing this and that wouldn't appoint a CEO with no code background.
Under his reign:-
2013 crowd average for season games 15940
2014. 15905
2015 15074
3 years prior to him taking over
2012 16423
2011 16273
2010 16406

NRL Directors have from my reading 6 years and under special circumstances can get an extra 3 years,
V'landys was appointed Chair in 2019 over the worst period in world history since WW2. He said he isn't going anywhere until he achieves his objective.

Agree with your post but imo, Super League was worse than WW2.

Actually the reason for that “drop” was because, under DSmith, the NRL just started forcing clubs to tell the truth in the crowd numbers

I remember, it came out that Manly were reporting crowds above their capacity…

Very believable, I mean under Smith there was a massive investment in memberships and the real start of the growth in that area. It wouldn't make sense that memberships were tripling and crowds declining

West Coast have reported 100k+ members for the last 3 seasons, and their crowds average in 2023 is ~40k.

Its 42k out of around 50k seats for members.
They have sold every ticketed membership available, they do every year. They have 10k+ paying members just waiting to get a ticket. From memory they have about 50k ticketed memberships available as they have to leave some seats for corporates, interstate visitors and ltd game members.
Their crowd is below the max as some of their ticketed members arent turning up to watch them play like dross.
Point stands, it would be unusual to see memberships tripling and attendances going down.

Now the NRL are fudging crowd figures according to AFL fans on this forum.

'very believable' lol
haha. It was strange how crowds dropped in 2015 to the 15k mark and stayed at that dropped level all the way through covid hitting (for 5 years)? Given that the previous 6 years had been reported at 16k ish

It's pitiful, how biased you are.

So the only answer is that it was fudged?

It's embarrassing how much of a shill you are.

No for having more then double the members of there average crowd.
Eh? I've explained every seat is sold to members. They cant magic more capacity at Optus to fit every member in.
You're missing the point anyway, why would NRL memberships triple and crowds fall? It makes no real sense does it?

I`ve signed up for a St. George membership for myself and my son based on the news that we`ve signed Shane Flanagan, yet it is very likely I still won`t get to see them play. Ergo, membership up, crowd figure unaffected and likely declining to position on the ladder.
There may be reasons why people sign up as members of clubs and not attend games, and crowd figures may continue to fall. It may be their way of showing support to a struggling club and thereby hoping to contribute to its` turnaround.
