Calling Paul Kent knowledgeable about anything is like calling the Cobby rapists caring towards women on trains
As much as I hate to say it, he did bring a good point on 360 last night, they asked him about his thoughts on expansion, and he said PVL should just bring the next 3 in now, just cut the cord and do it asap make the comp 20 teams, set it up, sell the games as 10 per week, instead of the drawn-out bid process, which then the panel questioned him about depth, and where are we getting the players to fill these 3 extra teams, which he said wherever we are getting them now UK, P.Is, reserve grades, doesn't matter, they'll fill them, and its going to be diluted whether its 1 new team or 3.. make sense coz in 5 years time they'll all be upto standard, depending on where these bids are based

That would be a REALLY bad idea

Yeah I know, the comp would look dreadfull for a few seasons, but that won't really matter if we (Penrith) are still going for 6 or 7 in a row, its a bit of a joke now that we are heading for a possible 4th
So f**k it why not add the bears or someone else now

PVL won't stand for that
You'll be lucky to 2 years apart, the rumours are that PNG is next for a 2027 debut, then 2 come in together to round out the 20 in the following broadcast cycle, not sure if that something thats discussed before that cycle or they roll them out in 2030 and just make 9 and Fox pay up early for the 10th game

Compare that finals game atmosphere in 2005 to 12 months earlier where Brisbane and NQ played in Townsville (ironically was meant to also be played in Sydney but the NRL wisened up and changed it 5 days prior to the game) and it's chalk and cheese. Still to this day other than the 2015 GF, my most favourite NQ game in 29 seasons. A game like that would have been completely wasted in Sydney.
Impressive...

Very nice...

Let's see Beave's least favourite NQ game?

“Home semi-finals suck to be honest, they all should be in Sydney, you need to make it special."

That's the dumbest thing Paul Kent has ever said.

The semi finals in Sydney back in the 80s and 90s involved all Sydney teams and the games werent live until the Grand Final. Yes a crowd of 38,000 between Brisbane and Illawarra was great back in the day but times have changed.

But we should to avoid playing semi finals at suburban grounds.

This poster knows...

Perth 2026
NZ2 2029
Brisbane 3 2032 - on the promise that Lang Park will be expanded to 65k as part of the Olympics. I'd also give Brisbane the GF in their Olympic year as well
If Lang Park is upgraded to 65k them it should hold the grand final every Olympic year. A 65k Lang Park will be great for Origin and the NRL.

Back in the 80s and 90s involved all Sydney teams eh? The Knights, Steelers, Raiders and Broncos would like a word.
