I can see Vegas getting moved to Hawai - holiday destination, so people will go for more than just the NRL game, which will help sell it to families (Vegas isn’t really a sell for families) which will open up a wider audience of potential attendees.
Plus there is the talk (albeit being driven largely by a journo) that Hawai could be a viable option for expansion.

the new Aloha stadium (30k - 35k capacity) and entertainment precinct will be finished in 2028.

NRL HAWAII would be huge and easily fill out the new 35k stadium being built there. Attract polynesian players. I think it's a shoe in. It's either that or NRL LA at Sofi which would be incredible but I see LA as not as an attractive or easy sell holiday destination as Hawaii.

Peter V must be happy with the state of rugby union at the moment. It’s certainly gone down the gurgler. I watched the afl/union centric show the Offsiders on the weekend and rugby got a whole 10 secs . Specifically the Waratahs getting lapped in NZ in front of a very sparse crowd. You’d struggle to find any “Super” rugby results anywhere on commercial TV networks.

Crowds are down too. A quick check showed the Western Force averaging 6711 over 6 matches at HBF Park in WA, which has a capacity of 20,500 . At GIO stadium in Canberra the Brumbies averaged 9,500 over 3 matches. Capacity is 25,000. Crowds are down to in NZ with the top teams averaging around 10k to 11k.

Had to laugh when the only publicity union could get was when Tim Horan publicly told Nathan Cleary to come to union to spread his wings. Yeah right. From 50k in SOO to 7k at HBF Park. I suppose you could get to see the cherry blossoms in full bloom in Japan while sipping Pimm’s or get carjacked in South Africa . Sounds tempting.

Not saying that Cleary would do it or is even interest in rugby union but potentially doubling your income, less stress on the body and with 4 GF victories already in your back pocket? Money sometimes makes people do funny things.

I feel like people are forgetting that the salary cap will most likely rise after the next broadcast deal. Wouldn't surprise me if Cleary was the first NRL $2 million dollar player.

Knights are going to offer ponga that

Can’t see him leaving Penrith he took huge unders now to try and keep the team together

Cap should go up to a minimum of 15 million and Perth and png will be desperate for elite talent

Super Rugby says crowds are up 6%. Ratings in Australia up no growth in NZ
