314m - the 80m+ government grant for renovations.
Its a lot close than your letting on.
I didnt let on anything. The annual reports did, but I see your point.
Hasn’t afl had billions more in revenue than the nrl Like 3 or 4 billion over the past ten years or so ?
where’s is gone
Where its meant to: on the sport it runs, leagues it operates, stadiums it owns and operates, teams that play in its competitions and their facilities.
a stadium is generally a poor investment
Depends on the stadium. This one is home to 5 AFL clubs and 1 BBL club and the headquarters of the league. Waverly served the AFL well for about 25 years before that.
Its profitable for the league most years since they took over. And if they decide to sell they'll more than make back the 300m cost on land value alone - Seven years ago it was reported that the land - in the middle of the Melbourne CBD - was worth 900m on its own.
it’s an old stadium who funds the upgrade in ten or so years
Its been 20 years since it was built, and it competes with the MCG for crowds in a very attendance driven market. The Victorian Government will contribute as it has this time until the stadium gets demolished. Its part of the states major stadium strategy - MCG > Docklands > Aami Park. These three stadiums are also home to 15 professional clubs in five leagues.
the fact vlandys will have similar net assets over such a short time is really stunning
its very good, No doubt about
