Regardless of on field success in the next 15-20 years, this could have a positive social impact, schools would be seen as development pathways to an NRL club. Keeping kids in schools would also provide an education. Longer term, this may lower crime rates.
The fact that in PNG schools play Rugby League matches on the weekend backs this up further.

No star player is going to want to live in PNG.

This guy makes a really good point, no one will play for PNG!

They will have to make a mockery of the salary cap to attract anyone at all. No exaggeration their cap will be 2x.

Wait, this guy also make a great point. EVERYONE is going to want to play for PNG.

We should get both of these guys into a room to hash this out…

The PNG Parliament have already passed laws that will exempt all NRL players playing for the PNG pay zero income tax. The Australian Government will also not levey them with any income tax either. As such some will go for the money, so there won't be nil takers. I mean on a $1 million a year contract, that's about $300k-$400k extra in your paypacket due to no tax.

But can you spend it in Australia?

Never had been to that site before & I found reading that particular thread really enjoyable.

Didn't learn a serious thing there but it did provide a comedic insight into that sports' fans. Thanks for the recommendation.
Same, I have been there before by accident, I was doing research into the RL game I've been designing, and needing to find everything I could on team jerseys from 1908 till now, and stumbled onto that site, which had someone their creating a jersey template, basically every jersey for every nrl club..ever.. lemonboi they by as, 5 pages of just jerseys... here stuff like this

Basically it was just a way to take note of every clubs changes each season
I even helped create the Panthers teal jersey and wests tigers 2005 home and away, due to the detail for them, I'll post a link if anyone cares to check it out

Shows a fairly keen interest doesnt it.

Makes you wonder how many casual (ie non fanatical) fumbleball fans are tempted to ditch following that sport in favour of RL. No idea what that number would be other than surely that figure has to be sizably larger than the reverse way round.
