for a change we agree, should be in the 2025 annual report thread.

What is interesting, and does reflect on Vlad, is how much over $720mill (as reported in the NRl's revenue forecast Oct 2024) is for 2024. 2023 revenue was $701mill. We'd want to see more than a 3% revenue increase Id have thought?

How much do you expect revenue to change each year when the broadcast deal is locked in

You have new sponsors, profits from events like origin, finals or Vegas going up, property revenue or gambling taxes from bookies

Abdo has specialised in growing non broadcast revenue each year

You would think profits/rents of ten million pa from property investments would be part of it

It’s a thread about Pvl

Just bc you are trying to get clicks to that “website” you run this isn’t the thread for it

Dude I dont give a damn if people go to the site or not. It is inveitable that the information will be posted here or quoted ad nauseum by yourself and others over the next 12 months anyway.

If players agents cant manage players under 18 then surely clubs shouldn't be able to sign players under 18? Seems an unfair balance in the clubs favour if they are negotiating with the kids parents.

hows it unfair? clubs that spend thousands, if not millions on junior pathways, infrastructures, developments are in a better position to negotiate and thats how it should be. theyre the ones who invest in the kids progress and for most part been part of that families lives via. all the time spent at training, games, club houses etc

Open the bidding and see whats offered. I believe NSW govt at moment pay around $8mill a year. Lets see whats its worth.
Problem is Suncorp lose ten million in gate so even if they offer 20 million it’s very little gain and you tick off nsw govt

Mcg would be a ten million higher gate but nobody can see much of the game

It would have to be so much better financially to move it

Youd have to be looking for somesweetners as well as just $'s. ie for Brisbane it might be buy 3 GF's for $36mill and committ to a Suncorp refurb and capacity increase.

You price it accordingly. You think the NRL is losing $20M per annum, by not playing 3 games of Origin at Accor??

You claim to be an Economist, yet you just keep coming up with shit takes.

I don’t know what point you are making

I didn’t say 3 origin games should be played at homebush they struggle to sell one game

But qld would need to offer probably 30 million to make it worthwhile taking the gf off Sydney

Melbourne could make more money than a Sydney gf and the view would be awful

So if they wanna do it it better be for really big dollars gained

That is different though.

The QLD will bid on potential tourists. If you have only 20k for the public.

QLD govt would make their offer based on that. NRL would then set the price.

It is why NSW will always offer the most. It is relies on regional travellers not Interstate and most teams

The NRL can avoid losing money, by pricing the tickets accordingly.

Less seats doesn't mean less total revenue.

Need to raise the average ticket price by 200 dollars for Suncorp to make it worthwhile

Would nrl want to lock out 30k fans from its biggest day ?

That's what happens for Origin and finals.

Moving it around is a great idea.

It's not like there is some long and storied tradition of playing at Homebush
