lol you were bragging about how the fumblers cracked a billion in revenue now it’s going down you are saying including the grant wasn’t the true picture
You’re funny, you want to include the grant when it suits and ignore it when it doesn’t. so According to what you posted, and you wanting to ignore the grant in 2023 as revenue, their revenue increase in 2024 appears greater than the NRL’s.

It was funny when they didn’t trumpet the revenue figure recently

That’s what happens when you lie poorly it catches up with you

Afl house isn’t interested in posting accurate figures it’s all a bs pr excercise

So you are accusing the AFL hierarchy of committing fraud and their audit firm of either colluding with them, or being negligent or incompetent in executing their audit duties.

He doesn't even know how to read financial statements, let alone spot fraud. He's made this claim previously and ran away when asked what he believed was fraudulent.

Incremental accounting would mean around $8-10mill of that increase was from the broadcast deal.

Inflation adjusted increased ticket prices for nrl events + Vegas

maybe the wa deal for buying origin and double header games (not sure if they got that revenue last year when deal done or its accounted for this year when played?)

the hotel revenue they added to the asset list

some of the areas you’d think contributed

Hotel revenue falls under Operations and Events in the AR.

Afl last year included a govt grant of 125 million to fix up marvel stadium last year as income when it really wasn’t

And it was itemised in their report not hidden away. And grants are still revenue for accounting purposes.

Same with the new tv deal they will include hundreds of millions Telstra is spending on marvel as revenue

You dont have the faintest idea - none of us do - what Telstra is spending on marvel and what they are paying for other things. And you know what? the NRL will do the same with their similar announced contra as part of their premiership sponsorship. Where are you on that?

The AFL actually do report contra separately.

Yeh not surprised the afl are proud of their grifting and headline it in the annual report

Even funnier they failed to mention that revenue had fallen this year

I notice that Aflindustry also failed to point out this fact

I would agree that at the moment, the AFL is a high dividend paying stock, but if you were looking for high capital growth going forward, NRL has all the potential. The biggest loser will ultimately be Union in this country. Once they have burnt through any extra money from the Lions tour and the Rugby World Cup, where do they go from there and what carrot can you dangle in front of players to keep them in the code or the country. Most of the country wouldn’t have realised Super Rugby kicked off last weekend.
This must be a Sydney thing.

I see many people talking about Unions demise in Australia, like it's a recent thing.

For mine, Union hasn't been a factor in the Australian sporting landscape for around a decade now.

Clearly it's still a thing in Sydney

Their report isnt even out yet for 2024, but its not incorrect for them to do so either.

Id wait until you see the actual report before going on about this too much.

Its not a fact. at least not yet.

I notice that you apparently decide when and where grants count though and when they dont. We know only that operational revenue rose 72m.

Govt grants aren’t recurring income even for grifters

As was shown by revenue falling this year which wasn’t mentioned by afl house for some reason

The way afl presents its figures is just opaque and full of smoke and mirrors

Its still correct to list it as revenue.
As was shown by revenue falling this year which wasn’t mentioned by afl house for some reason

Your trying to have it both ways again
either its revenue that counts, in which case from what we know it might be down
or its revenue that doesnt count, in which case revenue is up.

either way report isnt out yet.

The way afl presents its figures is just opaque and full of smoke and mirrors

yes they should merge everything into an mass category like the NRL so you can only guess what things are. thats the way it should be. f**king lol.

Out of interest Wookie, do you know if the AFL figures include the revenue from the AFL clubs they own? I was wondering if that was a motivation for NRL wanting own the WA team (to boost their NRL's annual revenue figure)?

Why would they ?

And why would the nrl need to do that to boost revenue but reduce profit

They are separate entities just like leagues club and football clubs are
