Accounting requires you to consolidate the entities you control. So if they own 100% of clubs, it's a valid question if the club revenues are also included in AFL revenue.
Under accounting standards you don't even have to have majority ownership, the key word is control. If you can show you control an entity (eg have majority of the board and make all decisions) you can consolidate it.

Out of interest Wookie, do you know if the AFL figures include the revenue from the AFL clubs they own? I was wondering if that was a motivation for NRL wanting own the WA team (to boost their NRL's annual revenue figure)?

No AFL clubs are listed as AFL subsidaries. So no they arent included.

The NRL did this with Gold Coast and Newcastle for a year or two back in the day.

What's behind all this being released today?!

AGM and report released.

I dont see any specific strategic reason behind it.

Its simply that this is the natural media PR follow on from the conclusion of the AGM.

This is a bit more than they usually do. Its good to see. Not sure why they are doing it all at once instead of drip feeding into the news cycle over the last few months (as the AFL do), but great to see it nevertheless.

I'd say they are doing it sll at once because Vegas will be taking all the spots next week.
Plus as someone said, the internet hits leading into Vegas.
Definitely a strategy going in.

Look if it hadn`t of been all good news then they would probably have held it back, but given that it is very positive it`s the perfect lead into the hype around Vegas and new season. Building to a crescendo nicely with a 50k to 60k crowd at Allegiant.
