People are far too tribal in their assessment of V'Landys, and that clouds their reason.

I dislike some of his decisions because they are Sydney-centric, but that is nothing new in game administration.

But you have to pay credit where it's due.

For example in this instance V'Landys has the Guardian writing about the PNG Rugby League team. That media outlet f**king hates the game and could barely point to PNG on a map, once they'd stopped crying over Adam Bandt losing his seat.
