The question was did we have get togethers, I was answering that. lol.
Ok, I am probably gunna talk out of school here, and I really dont know whether I should or not. Yes, both Ian Hindmarsh and Andrew Ryan have said to me that they will not be back at Parra whilst Smithy was here. And I would dare say that they would love to come back and play for the Eels as much as we would all love to have them back. Bobcat cried when he told me of the way Smith treated him. And its not so much in a phsysical sense, but a mental one. Smith has this way of telling players they are no good. I dont know whether he expects that to be some sort of reverse psychology but if you are told you are sh*t often enough, you are gunna start to believe it. But I guess the 01 GF just proves it. I mean he told them to go out there and treat it like a normal game... PFFT!!! He should been firin em up. Playing a bit of ACDC in the background or something!
Well if Bobcat "cried" when he told you, I am glad his tough Canterbury team mates were not around to see it. We must have a lot of sooky ex players. Steve Witt cried too didn't he.
Both Witt and Ryan should have thanked Brian Smith for discovering them and giving them the opportunity to have a crack at the NRL. Ryan came from nowhere to player SOO under Smith.
He went to Canterbury under the cheating Bulldogs Salary Cap deal. Lovey, in this day and age MONEY talks all languages. If Clubs throw a massive contract at them, they take it. Loyalty means SFA. Believe me.
Save up and buy Andrew a box of tissues.
Did you watch the 2001 Grand Final? Newcastle played probably the best half of Grand Final football ever. Unstoppable.
If you have to motivate players to play in a Grand Final they are not up to it. The greatest of all coaches, Jack Gibson ALWAYS told his players to treat every game the same.
Don't believe fairy tales, and don't spread fibs....
