This jerk is the only sports journo in the Tele today that hasn't got the Knights in his final Top 8...

There is a list of teams that the Knights have to play before the finals - and a list for every other team - and I have no idea how Rothfield can seriously say the Knights won't be there....

He doesn't explain why he thinks this....

It's a bait for sure....

He's got the Sharks there tho....

knights are paying $1.22 to make the 8, sharks $34, if Buzz is so confident he should put his money where his mouth is

Worrying about anything that Rothfield writes is a bit like fretting over professional wrestling results. It's all made up, so just enjoy a bit of cheap entertainment and then forget about it.

The only thing redder than good old Dill Slothfields face is the tomatoes that should be chucked at him after every time he decides to publish his rubbish.

He is a hack, i am banned from his blog because he simply couldn't debate with me, i called bullsh*t on him so many times.

Banned from a Rothfield blog! Good effort RABK. Anyway don't let buzz get to you because that bloke has to accept the fact that the sharks are goooooooone deluxe for the year as they can afford to lose one more game or thereabouts. Good luck Sharks. HE is an agenda driven goose like his mate Bec Wilson. Next to arrogant in the dictionary is a picture of Bec and Buzz. The same people who never look in their own backyard. All they do, as I am sure most of us know, is bag others for any mistake they make. Smithy gets s### from them all the time. Smithy has too much integrity to even bother reading that dribble. Anyway we all love our club so we know what matters and all of us here are good ambassadors for the knights cos we actually give a s###. Whether we agree on everything or not is irrelevant. We all care and that is enough for me.

Well we all have. I can see his point.

I don't think we are a shoe-in yet either. We are a good chance, but I sure wouldn't be taking the $1.22 odds about it - how ridiculous are those.

Talk about a sucker bet.

All it takes is another performance or two at home like we had against the Eels, or the first half against the Rabbitohs against a stronger team, and we are gone.

We are more likely than not to make the 8, but its no shoe in.

People would have called someone crazy if they named the Tigers a top 8 chance at this stage in 2005 too...

Alot of footy still to be played. Injuries anything.

If Gidley / Mullen go down injured at any time ( bearing in mind Mullen is already a ticking time bomb injury wise ), hows the $1.22 looking then?

Well, with 10 rnds to go - 9 or us because we still have a bye - and us having some fairly 'easy' games to play and having already beaten the likes of the Dragons and Bulldogs, I think it's pretty safe to say top 8..

As you said, there are circumstances that could arise - but I still think Rothfield is talking out of his a*se...

Nope. But any decent punter would rather look for value anyday over $1.22.

Every week a $1.01 chance goes down on Betfair, whether it be a horse falling at the final hurdle, or Nadal going out unexpected in the first round , or Australia getting beaten by Bangladesh in cricket.

$1.22 is ridiculous odds is all I'm saying, for a team that after this weekend, could conceivably be outside the Top 8.

Or Australia getting 300+ and a ground record in SA and SA chasing it down batting second.....

It was something like $160 000 on that one from memory.

rothfield mention Smith coached sides hitting the wall. I want to know how many smith coached sides have hit the wall and failed to make the finals when in 5th position with 9 games to go? Or is Hackfield just making sh*t up as usual?

Don't remind me of that match...ugh

I'm pretty sure it was the highest ever innings score in an ODI (as in both teams broke it in one night)

Anyway yes $1.22 is not really worth betting on, and personally i think its a little short for us as well.

Phil Rothfield hates brian smith...hate is a strong word but its valid in this case. He went so far as to say he would support QLD if smith every coached NSW, so i wouldnt worry about Rothfield, his RL knowledge is all about gossip. He wouldnt know a league ball from a ball gag, even though i assume he has had more than his fair share of turns at the later.
