Fan,
This is a great idea. Sorry I'm a bit late to join in.
Just two points - I think most people are under-estimating the Parramatta crowd and was your estimate for the Roosters game for the actual crowd or the official crowd?
Cheers

you are spot on about the roosters v sharks attendance,if there were 9 100 people there last night than it's about time the storm managementstarted doubling our figures as well.

the place was practically empty for christs sake,i noticed they dd'nt give the crowd figure during nines coverage,at least not on the fox replay anyhow.

MFC - I said yesterday that if we were running a 'pick the crowd' sweepstake for the Warriors tonight I wouldn't go for more 7,500. I didn't expect anyone to actually start one up to make an idiot out of me!

Warriors/Dogs - 9,500 (!)
Tigers/Sharks - 7,100
StGeo/Panthers - 11, 800
Newcastle/Canberra - 16,100
Melbourne/Broncos - 14,500
Parra/Cowboys - 12, 300

The disgraceful practice of fudging figures that has been practised by a number of clubs this year and condoned by the News/NRL has not abated.
Regardless if they post a figure inflated by 10% to -25%, they are only doing themselves a disservice by attempting to hide the lack of support at these games and the drastically reduced income that is the result!

I will go against the trend a bit here and say that there were probably 9000 there on fri night. The undercover areas were practically full, and quite a few rows at the SFS are under cover (not visible on the tv but)...id say that quite a few ppl were also perched up high in the members area...so 9000 may not have been to far off the mark
The weather definitely played havoc with the crowds. The tigers/eagles game, the dragons/panthers and knights/ raiders were games were all hit hard by foul weather. The eels/cowboys was also probably also affected by foul weather. The 15,000 at colonial was also quite satisfying, especially given that the storm were smashed last week.
Individual winners: (nb: All winners win a free trip around the messageboard and a free trip into the 'firking fun bar'!!)
Sharks/Chooks - Aaron C
NZ/Dogs - Pepe
Dragons/PennyPanthers - The Saint
Tigers/Beagles - Warlock
Newcastle/Raiders - Saint Doc
Brisbane/Melb - Warlock
Cowboys/Parra - Saint Doc
Warlock and Saint Doc have emerged equal winners with 2 games! I was recalling the crowds off the top of my head, so although i may be a bit off, no correspondence will be entered into! I haven't had the chance to drop in here all weekend, so there is probably some chance that a few people have 'joined in late'...very clever, but next week it will not happen, because like FootyTab, all bets will be entered in by 7:30pm on friday! No selections will be entered after this time....
Overall, I think that Willow has the closest tally. Now, for the goose awards for the week:
First Prize - My guess of 20,245 at the knights game. Due to inclement weather, only 9000ish turned up!
Second Prize - Resorvoir Dogs prediction of 18,488 at the warriors/dogs game...only 8000 off!
Third Prize - The Saints prediction of 20k at the knights game as well...only 11k off!
Special mention:
GavBT, who overestimated the crowd size at every game this weekend! ;)
I will probably post my crowd selections for this weekend tomorrow or wednesday, i want a reliable weather prediction before i start making guesses this weekend!
