Great news - Nutley's off to England, we get a nuffy Red Head. What's going on?
Nutley was under contract - we signed him for x amount of years on $xxxxxx.
This is something he agreed to, and judging by his capabilities, i'm sure he would have also received other offers from NRL and ESL, but he chose to stay at the sharks, because, amongst other things, we provided him with a fair deal.
Why would we let him go if he is under contract? Is he out of form, or not giving the club his all? Disruptive? I doubt it.
I just can't fathom why the club would let him go - stuff the amount of money he could get somewhere else. A young player that signs a three year deal on peanuts and comes good in the first year of his contract is often underpaid for two years. But a contract is meant to provide security, and for both parties.
Why on earth are we letting him go? I just dont understand

Dude, you probably don't want a guy at the club that wants to play elsewhere. Like Donald / Heckenberg for my team. He's 29/30 now, so is at the back end of his career, and has just broken into SOO. It's probably a financial decision. He has a young family, and achieved what he wanted to in the NRL. I'd take a 27 year old Thompson in my team if we would take him. He'll be a very mobile prop, as he is currently a backrower.

Don't stress dude, I don't think you are going backwards by attaining Thompson.

The loss of Donald and Heckenberg can only help Manly. The reverse is unfortunately true for Cronulla.

The recruitment for the Sharks has been awesome.
That SOO player from The Panthers
Darren Alberts
Lance Thompson

I'd be extatic.

Manly have only got Orford & Bell.

Sorry - Hecks went to England. Apparently to make way for Jamie Lyon come June 30...so says the paper anyway.

Hey, you re asking us to accept that " not being as bad as manly" at running a football club is a good gauge of how well we are going. Sorry, but I want a bit more out of our board than that.

Judging by this post, surely this bloke is taking the piss, and doing it well.

I dont know where you guys think thompson is a front rower! he is not big ebough. Saints used him on and off in that position over the years and found him to be not up to it. They left him in the back row for this year and he played well.

Not the best recruit but the only one on the market at the moment but not as a replacement for a hard head traditional front rower!
