Hello country lovers,

I am planning a farm/orchard stay with a total of 6 people(all adults) in late May. It should probably not be more than 4 hours drive(around 300K) from Sydney. I am thinking Orange or Mudgee. Do you guys have any other recommendations?

Regards,

We stayed here last year. It's an old sheering shed converted to a farm house.

It's a bit "rustic" but you expect that from a farm
It's about a 40 min drive to Mudgee from there (between Lithgow and Mudgee) - there were three bedrooms from memory

BBQ breakfast on the verandah was great - the moths that crashed into the windows at nights were the size of birds. I kid you not.

a more upmarket place I stayed (better for adults) but in the other direction from Sydney was this place

It's a vineyard rather than a farm - but it suits adults much better
Berry is great for food (lovely restaurants) and wine (Shoalhaven region wines) and has lovely all round scenery. You can drive to / through Kangaroo Valley on the way there / back too.
