The Golden Slipper favourite, Plagiarize has been retired after doing irreparable damage when pulling up after her stunning victory in Saturdays G3 Kindergarten Stakes (1100m) at Warwick Farm.
Plagiarize injured her offside foreleg at the 1400m crossing when pulling up after thrashing her two-year-old rivals that saw her Golden Slipper quote slashed to outright favouritism at $6.
From her three starts, all at stakes level, Plagiarize claimed the G2 Silver Slipper and the G3 Kindergarten Stakes while her only defeat was at the hands of Mirror Mirror in the Listed Gimcrack Stakes where she finished fourth.
By New Zealand based stallion Stravinsky out of the unraced Sir Tristram mare, Emulate Plagiarize was purchased by the team from Woodlands for $300,000 at last years Easter yearling sale.
In another disappointment for the team at Woodlands earlier today they announced the retirement of last year's G2 Silver Slipper winner, Domesday, who like Plagiarize was an outside purchase from the 2004 Easter yearling sale for $420,000. Domesday will stand his first season at stud later this year at Woodlands Cootamundraproperty for a serive fee of $11,000 plus gst.
what a shame for connections and macca. i thought it looked like being the quality 3yo filly next season. as well as being a major chance in the slipper
