Play-offs Week One discussion

A preview of week one matches here - http://www.leagueunlimited.com/article.php?newsid=16978

Just a quick heads up, that the play-offs are being shown live into Australia for the first time this year... But since that equates to the early hours of the morning many people browsing the site may plan on catching the delayed replays at the much more managable time of roughly about 12 hours later. (NZ readers have always had the live thing, but the Aussies are more used to a 4-5 day delay!)

So most people wanting to avoid the scores before they watch know how to stay out of this section, but may be browsing the other forums during that 12 hour gap...

With that in mind, please be careful about the Title of any threads you choose to post in the 12 hours following the play-off games, since the title of the last thread started or posted in will show on the forums main menu screen and could be a spoiler.

Please be a bit vague in your thread titles, or feel free to post in this thread to discuss the matches and outcomes as they happen, or until the next (UK) day or after the Aussie replay. Cheers :D

Anyone watching the Wigan Bradford game? Top playoff stuff this. Lynch has been great for the Bulls but Leuluai is running the show for Wigan.

Just to back up the quality of the game, at HT Wig have completed 76% of thier sets and made 112 tackles. Brad 71% and 122 tackles.

It's a joke that Wigan are releasing Higham, he killed Bradford.

I agree, especially in the last 30 minutes. Thought Leuluai was awsome and Fatty Paleasina had two very good stints. Bradford were good tonight and I thought the 16 point deficit was harsh but the best team won at the end of the night.

theres some kind of premier league rule that the pitch can't be used for 24h before a premier league game...

and do they get along? they did until the guy that owned both the football club & the rugby club sold the rugby club last season...

i think it finished 30-14 or something like that,i turned off with abit to go..

Bradford were quite impressive up to about 50-60 minute mark. I thought they were the better team, suffered a few refereeing/video doubtfuls and were going to go on with it. Deacon injury might have messed up their attacking plans.

But credit to Wigan, they just kept playing for 80 and finished over the top. Great second half by Higham, good games by Feka, Leuluai, and even Hock. Higham would have been a better player for them to keep than buying Riddell...

Lynch was very good for Bradford. Sadly guys like Solomona look a bit like they're past it now.

Agreed.

You blokes should have quite a front row irrespective of who is picked.

Lynch and Peacock at prop sound like a nice framework around which to build a challenge...

Must be Morley's last rep game coming up? He looked nothing in last week's game. Will be interesting to see if he shapes up against Catalans pack, or gets dominated.

morley is our petro....other than getting sent off after 12sec he's never put a foot wrong for GB/ENG in 30+ tests....and for mine he's one of the first on the team sheet..

whether it'll be is swansong is up for debate...he's 31and props mature with age, he could sneak out another couple of years and play in another couple of 4 nations if he wanted too, though the 2013 world cup is probably to far away

they did...but to get to the GF they'll have to beat leeds or st helens away...which,sadly they won't do....and judging by the way wigan played last night that'll be a tough hurdle too

Fair enough, I just think it's getting close to the day when England/GB have four better props than Morley... leadership/talisman quality aside, I think he'd be the fourth pikced this year out of Peacock, Graham, Maurie and himself. Hope he has a good tournament - and not get sent off fist minute ;-) - but just quietly I wouldn't be surprised if this is his last hurrah.

Catalan back on form by the sound of it, will check out the replay tonight. I think they can do Wigan, escpecially if it's down in France again?

St Helens v Leeds should be a corker of a clash next week too.
