Purtell doesn't even play in the NRL anymore.Thinking about it...........
Before the teams play, the team list has to be submitted to the NRL. This is usually done on Tuesday Night - as per the NRL demands. This ties in with the publishing of team lists and player numbers in Big League - the "official organ of the NRL". Of course, not always are the teams still the same on match day for a variety of reasons. Still, where players are ruled out late, a replacement player and number are provided. There would have to be an official element to this.
Meaning that Purtell has to be registered as playing in his own unique number.
Either Purtell did not play in that number (for whatever obscure reason), or that he is an illegal player.
I am amazed that we have not heard more about this.
But you have just demonstrated how this happened. Some idiot f**ked up.
