In the Herald Greg Pritchard gave a very unbalanced set of player ratings including giving Hindmarsh and Ryan 6.5 when they were clearly two of NSW's best. Combined total for NSW was 101.5 while QLD got 112. From that you'd think the Maroons were easily the better team. I'd like to see RLW's review next week.

harsh on stevens, when he was actually out there he made 9 tackles and 6 hit ups for 55m. thats not bad, stupid gould. Was it really worth him not playing for the sharks for that???

Hindmarsh and Mason were the only players that looked like doing anything in attack. Fitzgibbon went o.k. Stevens and Waterhouse didn't get enough game time to be rated at all.

Interesting comments from Greg Pritchard about player performances. I had not too many problems with his assessments of the individual players.

One that stood out though was:

Nathan Hindmarsh 6.5

"Did plenty of work in defence and made a good run in the lead-up to Rooney's second-half try."

If anything, I thought he was one of NSW best. So too Andrew Ryan who did a lot of work, but also earned a relatively low score from Pritchard (also 6.5).

Hindmarsh was the best forward on the park and Mason not far behind him.
In the backs Tonga was the best by a mile Slater got a lucky bounce and let in a Tahu try thru poor postioning in defence. For mine Tonga should be man of the match he lit queenslands flame in the 2nd half without him there they don't win.

Had trouble handling Gidley in defence, but was a big threat when he ran the ball. Strong debut.

Always a danger in attack and created Tahu's two tries, but had some trouble handling Tonga in defence

AS soon as he gave Hindy a 6.5 (2nd lowest rating overall) he lost all credibility.

He actually gave Hindmarsh and 8 for the 1st Origin
